Great video Ryan! Loved the editing in this one - I can appreciate how long it can take to get small bits like the scrubbing the controls off the screen thing right, and those all landed really well! Good stuff as always dude 🙌🙌

Sadly, every ATLUS JRPG from now until the end of time will be compared to Persona 5. We saw this with SMT 5, and now with Soul Hackers 2. It’s the double-edged sword of Persona 5’s success. Great review! 👍

More like lazyness. SMT5 is just so barren and empty of content or interesting gameplay mechanics compared to Persona series. Like its no wonder smt4 was a 3ds title.

I really enjoyed this video! Question: what would you like to see in a potential Soul Hackers 3?

Humorous video so far (I am aware this is an older video). Granted this game made a bad first impression with its DLC problems and some other stuff but overall this was a fun pretty good game! I'm happy I took a chance on it last February when it got patched some and was half off.

Great video. To me, Soul Hackers 2 is a welcome addition to the Megaten franchise and I loved the fact that Atlus wasn't afraid to bring back a franchise from its past. It's not all about Persona and it shouldn't be. It's difficult in a post-P5 world for people NOT to compare every new Atlus game with P5, but... these comparisons can be unfair. To me, it's better to compare Soul Hackers 2 with the other Shin Megami games and even more, with the first Soul Hackers, since its closer to their style of gameplay anyway.

Sadly, the Level Design in this game is so stale compared to the successful formulas: Persona 5 (The stylish linear dungeon) and SMT V (The open-world environment). This game is like TMS + Tatarus. I am also not a fan of the Sabbath. It is made a game very slow, and it make me tired to watch an all-out attack scene every turn. I also do not prefer Recon, where it is too RNG compared to just simply capturing them. So, I think Persona 5 is not the only reason for negative feedback (even if it is a huge factor). I feel like this game is mediocre compared to the rest of RPG games. *I think the SMT V is more like a victim of Persona 5 (but their narration is really awful.)* Just my opinion tho, Feel free to discuss. *Note: Grammar Edit*

I think that's a fair take! I did play the game recently for this video and I know it went through a lot of quality of life patches like being able to go to shops from the world map, being able to run, and speeding up combat. I didn't mention a lot of it since it's now the "current" version of the game that I played. Were you not able to skip Sabbath animations in an earlier patch? I skipped them frame one most times and even if you have a tandem skill you can skip to choose which one then skip that animation after. I appreciated how Sabbath changed the flow of combat, but would definitely be annoyed if I had to sit through the full animation of each one.

@RyanBeardy That's a good thing. At least they try to fix it. I have played it since Day 1 and I dropped it after around two days. I think Sabbath can skip, but I still see that combat is too slow (need to skip every time) compared to an all-out attack. I wish Sabbath was as fast and compact as SMT Strange Journey.

Glad to see a more positive impression of this for once.
