Nice score Rabbit! I guess if you find you're making decent money parting the DVDs and machines out, you could consider widening your search outside your local area which is where I assume these all came out of. Around here, Walgreens and CVS also had these machines available.

Around here all the machines seemed to be picked up by one company. And that was mid summer, all were gone in a couple of days. I did get a few disks at the flea markets for the heck of it.

There are tens of thousands these cabinets, as a historic piece it’s ok if you have room, but cabinet collectors are pretty niche market for sure. I mean, the room it takes is so giant that after a while one might have second guess. Great video, I wonder if the turning tray could be re-used for cds, or is it just a bit too different?

Steel is like $100 per ton here. These machines would get me like $40 each scrapping them. Not worth the effort to haul them away for that.

COOL Find... those rotator sections could probably be turned into a sorting station for small items, by cutting thin plywood dividers and then put it in some kind of base nto stand upright

He is a liquidator (amongst other parts of his business). He buys things from companies that are going out of business or that they can't make a profit on, and he finds a way to get the product to someone who wants to buy it.

i wouldnt gut it completely, leaving the carrousel free moving. .. i bet someone would like to make it their dvd shelf if they can find redbox cases. I'd love to convert it to a dvd cabinet and make the little screen play movies or display something custom.

You can remove the barrel lock out of the screw handle, so a person can buy a new lock and keep the ability to close and lock it. Maybe a person could use it as a gun safe.
