Why don't you have more pallet racking? You have plenty of upward space available and it would make things more organized in your warehouse. You might even be able to reduce the number of suites you are renting.

I have enjoyed watching your videos for years but i do regularly think that your entire warehouse space (including the office & ebay area) looks like a bomb site. To me if you just organised your stock more efficiently & logically you could reduce the amount of space that you need to rent (& stop misplacing stock items). Also, if you are still renting storage units that you have not cleared out that is an easy job to reduce your monthly costs as well. I know that it is easy to be critical but i do mean this constructively.

Yep. Paying rent money on the warehouse to store it for a year should be factored into the profit. As well as the original cost that isnt producing a profit for a year.

Customer counts are down all across the retail spectrum, as about 79% of us are buying more and more of our essentials on line, these days. You saw the trend early on when you were concentrating more on clearing out the companies that couldn't survive the drop in customer counts and sales volume, and now even Big Lots! has declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is closing hundreds of stores. They are essentially a giant version of your business. I'm not talented enough to see over the horizon, but the next big thing that you will be doing is out there...somewhere. Full disclosure: For years and years I was a weekly Pic 'n' Save shopper...and graduated to Big Lots! when they took over Pick 'n' Save. Then there was Covid, and I haven't been inside a retail store (or restaurant) since March 2020. Apparently, I am not alone...and I think a lot of your missing customer base is right there with me.

If your next sale is Christmas stuff and you dont use the sale space. Why not setup the sale area for the Christmas one to see what areas you need to fill for each sale amount. A lot of those old digicams share batteries between brands and can be had cheap from our friends in China, same with chargers. I find that if I have a camera that has some value it sells easier if I inform about the battery being new in the listings. I also have some generic cheapo card-readers that can come in handy if the camera has some obscure proprietary memory card or are lacking cables. Memory cards is something to take into consideration as well, adding an SD card can convince a potential buyer. Also, some of those old memory cards have value on their own. XD-cards for instance that were used by fujifilm and Olympus for a period of time can be swapped with adapters that take micro-sd cards that are way cheaper. Keep the xd-cards for those cameras that absolutely need it as some don't accept the adapters and use the adapters for those that do. Sell the 1-2gb cards on their own to maximize profit.

Okay, I am far away and not privy to your current market, but I think your process is failing for simple reasons that are fixable. First off, too many sales. Your warehouse sales should be big events, maybe 3 times a year (spring, back to school / halloween, and Christmasy time like just after thanksgiving). Hit times when people are already out shopping and promote hard with items that fit the time well. Give people a reason to show up (low prices isn't enough, you are competing with dollar general and such if you are just on price). Second is too many days. Midweek days are not great days for much of anything. Retail consumer are friday, saturday, sunday type people. Your best sales have been on shorter time frames. They are also easier for you to manage and do. If you want a fourth day, you might consider a contractor / builder day with things like tools and other stuff you have around at great "cash" prices. Third, and this one is super important: Improve the layout and display of items, and get a lot more items into the sale area. Tables are nice, but some sort of two level shelving would help you show more things. It should take people a while to look around. Check the video, check the stay time, where people go and where they don't go. Final one is harder: Mix of goods. While I know you enjoy the sales in Georgia and you are getting a lot of good stuff, there isn't as much variety in them. Your best sales have things like makeup and personal items. Store returns for this stuff has got to be a great source. Even if it isn't as profitable as a pallet of leaf blowers, it is a way to get people in the sale and buying things. No loss leaders, just bulking up on the things that get people to see the other things you are offering. Don't kill yourself with the sales. They are trending down and therefore you have to accept that change is good.

@ResaleRabbitАй бұрын
Experience, mostly.
@lilred9483Ай бұрын
I am just curious??? Why do you do free shipping???
@ResaleRabbitАй бұрын
Because shipping doesn’t matter. If I buyer is willing to pay $40 for something, it doesn’t matter if you list it $40 plus shipping or $30+$10 shipping, it’s the same $40. Items with free shipping tend to perform better on eBay, so we just build the shipping into the price. The shipping cost is usually very easy to predict, with the exception of really large or heavy items. On those items, it can very greatly depending on how far it’s going, so we do calculated shipping on those exceptionally large or heavy items.
