I love this, I make maggots for my Silkie farm (which is probably why I'm still single lol) but I read that allowing maggots to eat dead mice or rats can cause botulism, have u heard of this?

Does the quail have to sit on the egg before doing this?❤
@ChrisfelReturner2 ай бұрын
No it's a incubator. A incubator is a machine that produces humidity and heat to hatch eggs,and it can warm up eggs like the hen or mother quail does.

Bro...based on my understanding... when human waste is use in farming.. this is anthroponics not bioponics. it is another form of organic farming technique.. but using human waste is another type of it. It is a different type of tech. Aquaponics system combined aquaculture, microbes and vegetation growing.. while bioponics utilize organic matters(mostly from organic scraps but not human waste) anthroponic utilize human waste minus the fish and non human organic matters.

Hi. I have quail myself and I’d like to recommend that you do not give them chocolate or put it where they can access it as it is not good for them and, knowing quail, they peck and try to eat everything. I hope you appreciate this advice!

I have males that are missing feathers on the back of their heads, like they're being mated. And females have had the foam come out when I squeezed the goody boxes. I am so confused. Just when I think I have my birds separated I fi d eggs in my male cage. What am I doing wrong?

may i ask if there is a purpose to why you used 45's angle instead of using 90° angle?
@cato7902Ай бұрын
Its to prevent 90° dramatically reduce water flow and pressure loss

Also, when you say that foam doesn't occur in females - it does - when they've been mated!

My grandma had a maggot farm a bit like that, she used the remains of mice and rats that her traps caught, it stank like you would imagine it would, but damm if the chickens didn't love her for it.

HI Matty - Thanks for the video. your systems looks great. I plan to mimic your system and see how it works for us. I got few questions. Will you be painting those timbers? the reason I'm asking is that I used them (for another project) as it is from pallets and it kind of turned black after an year. also my pest inspector was not happy on them directly touching the ground as it might invite termite. how to protect the aquaponic from termites.. thanks

Hi, I've made one of these but it's not worked for me yet, is it normal to have dead flies inside the bucket? I would have thought they would fly out once they laid their eggs? I didn't see any maggots when I opened the lid? Thanks
@mattysbackyard92448 ай бұрын
Hi there. You shouldn’t see dead flies in there. How long have you been using it for?
@Alexxx---1018 ай бұрын
@mattysbackyard9244 Hi, I've had it baited for about 2 weeks but it's cold outside in the UK so only starting to get flies as it warms up other than the odd one. I've changed the pipe inside for the maggots to climb up, I originally used a flexi pipe inside and maybe the maggots couldn't climb up it? Thanks for taking the time to reply.
