Here's an obscure stretchy character I'll bet NO ONE could ever come up with; In the 1989 Disney cartoon series Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers, there's an episode where Dale gets hit by a piece of a meteor and gain elastic powers. He then leaves the Rescue Rangers for the episode to become Rubber Bando. The episode itself is called "It's a Bird, It's Insane, It's Dale!" and was the 47th episode of the series premiering on December 22, 1989. It was essentially a spoof on the superhero genre, and probably a jab at Warner Bros. at the time as well.

Madam Rouge from Teen Titans was less stretchy and more "her body is plasticine." If she's considered, then characters like J'onn J'onz and Clayface should also be considered.

Depending on if unravelling your body counts or not, Jolyne Kujo from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 6 (via her Stand, Stone Ocean) counts. She even finds some creative uses, such as (I kid you not) turning her heart into a mobius strip in or to prevent it being turned inside out, using her own elongated arm as the string for essentially a tin can phone, and turning part her body into a protective net to prevent a rain of poison arrow frogs from touching her!

And in terms of stretching, Luffy uses his ability to hit like a tank by throwing his limbs backwards, turning them into rubber bands. With the robot thing, in the final episodes of Generator Rex, when Six finds out the Pawns are robots he stops holding back and he is devastating.

On the topic of stretchy characters, Piccolo (& by extension, the Namekians) can stretch their limbs (mainly their arms). So could Janemba & Majin Buu Edit: Small correction, there WAS a third Lava Bender: Toph, she's the one who created it as we've seen in the comics

I can't believe you two didn't mention Gaara when talking about Earth users in Naruto. As for elemental combinations in Naruto: Water + Wind = Ice. Water + Earth= Wood. Water + Lightning = Storm/Gale which allows you manipulate Electricity with the flexibility of Water. Water + Fire = Boil/Vapor/Steam. Fire + Earth = Lava Fire + Wind = Scorch similar to Storm/Gale you can manipulate Fire like it's Wind which is so hot it doesn't burn but instead evaporates the water inside someone. Earth + Wind = Magnet, you're basically turning your chakra in a magnet which allows you to manipulate metal. Earth + Lightning = Explosion, like Bakugo only instead of sweat it's chakra. Lightning + Fire and Lightning + Wind have not been confirmed.

Hope Ol' Moulder can get in on some of the combat soon; "he's a healer, but..." I genuinely miss earnesty and sincerity in narratives, in games especially. The tongue-in-cheek or meta humor is fun and I do not want to come off as bashing that angle, but I do find myself missing when a narrative is unapologetically earnest with itself and plays itself straight in a fun or interesting way; where the humor comes from the premise being played straight through and through or you can feel the genuine care the makers had for telling this story straight. It isn't completely dead, but it feels a bit rarer than it used to be is all.

Dungeon Meshi, eh? So...what kind of recipes can we make from these monsters? "Wait...can you tell us what this "eyes cream" stuff the queen wants is?" - Random guard in 600 AD, Chrono Trigger Not THAT!!! Also, regarding the four classic elements: If you put them in the order Earth-Water-Air-Fire, you get a representation of the four states of matter. (Solid, Liquid, Gas, Plasma) Kind of makes me wonder if ye olde alchemists may have had an insight on that without knowing it. Also, correction: It's Fire, Water, EARTH, Wood, and Metal. Air isn't an element in Tao. Also, my two Zenny on Sonic: I think storytelling really needs to be secondary when it comes to the games. As long as the gameplay is solid, the story can be whatever it wants. As for the cartoons and comics, however, you bet your sweet bippy the story better be on point! It's like I told you guys earlier: Sega needs to be hands off with the writing and let Ian do his thing. Ian actually respects the source material unlike Penders who just wanted to do his own thing.
