They were good bikes to have in the early 2000s they were cheaper and were everywhere ive had alot of nice bikes when i was younger but these days i jus don't see myself paying 400$ for a 26inch composite xc bike

please service the suspension. I love your videos, but when you ignoring the suspension servise, like here or on Ellsworth Truth, it feels like an unfinisched job, cosmetics not a repair or restoration. this Fox can be saved if you will reduce the travel and do a full service on it. Love you anyways!

Another thing they don't want you to know is a good steel frame can last a lifetime. I'm riding a 23 year old 853 Reynolds roadbike with mostly original parts that rides like a dream. Shimano Ultegra, Mavic wheels. I've ridden this bike since it was new and have never had problems with it. My aluminum and carbon bikes have all broken.

Please restore a old HeadShok Cannondale from the 90's or so. I don't remember you doing one yet. They were nice bikes back then and deserve to be restored

@oldshovel Just a suggestion (like you care what I think)... Maybe a quicker review to feature more bikes in each video?

Respect to the Paul Brodie shout out. From his book and KZbin channel, Paul built the original kona frames. I’m not sure how much design Joe Murray did once they were no longer made by Paul and badged by Joe? My old 95 Rocky Mountain blizzard had the same style of steel frame. That was long after Paul left Rocky Mountain. Had I known his story then I would have purchased a Brodie. Although I loved that blizzard with all made in Canada race face parts!

I live in Los Angeles and have often looked at high end bikes, but then I start worrying that it will get stolen or that someone will knock me off the bike and just take it! My 20 yr old schwinn mountain bike will do just fine!

Good video, I think the only real issue is that some of those older bikes may seem perfectly good but many have components that you cannot replace, parts are not available anymore, they have compatibility issues, the repairs themselves become a can of worms as you find more and more things wrong with them and the cost goes up and up. Some older bikes with suspension from the early 90's I would not even trust to ride at this point. Many materials fatigue and corrode and are not safe. There's still some gems out there that are a good price to pick up and ride, you just have to really check them over.
