Please update! I have an old Manitou fork as well, and I’ll probably have to clean it out like you do.

I hope you enjoy the smell of Acetone haha. Only thing I have found to combat the melted red elastomers

Lol yep, we’ll no I don’t like the smell, my garage now smells of acetone. 😁🙌

Every fork I owned back in the early to mid 90's that had elastomers I immediately replaced with a spring upgrade. I had a RS Quadra 10 on my 1993 Giant Cadex mtb and within 3 months the "rubber" rod cracked and split. I upgraded my '96 RS Judy XC and my Manitou SX to Dirt Worx springs. Maybe there's a set of springs out there that might fit that fork.

Why did you use the little spacer on top of the stem?
@urbanrider429Күн бұрын
It just shows the money we all waste buying hyper expensive parts that we don’t really need.I went out and bought a 1991 klein pinnacle after watching oldshovel a few years ago and it’s my favourite bike I own.

@@oldshovel Looks like I'm going to be picking it up from the guy for $125. It's in pretty decent condition, but needs a little love. It's a 19 inch frame, and I'm 6'4", so if you have any good ideas on making the reach a little more comfortable, let me know. I asked the guy if there were any cool stories behind the bike and he mentioned that a long time ago he used to work for Chris King components in Shasta, California, and the front shock that's on this bike was donated to him by Chris King himself.

I have one too. Do you do a lot of video editing? I noticed KZbin doesn't post the best quality even if the video is in 4K mode

I think I'd go for a rigid fork, for the weight, and to not suck motion out of my output (if that makes sense?)
@fredhollis3749Күн бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. Just cuz me and all my friends rode rigid and that’s what I’m used to. But your physics might be right
