I don’t know maybe I’m just not a jazz girly so I don’t appreciate the album as much as the others. Although i think “oh when the saints” is a banger. But one thing’s for sure, gaga is able to reinvent herself and that is the reason, why she’s still relevant up to this day. Im looking forward to LG7❤.

I guess since she’s trying to be Harley Quinn it works? I thought it was a mess, but I’m also not interested in the joker movie 🤷♂️ Didn’t like that she looks like she’s trying to be Haley Williams in the pic Or the stealing of “Salems” aesthetics for their single “capulets”. I also am aware she’s like trying to capture something… it just Nothing about the characters or movie interests me 😅 so it’s just like I think there’s lady Gaga Stan’s who would literally just “yes queen slay 10/10” anything she does And like as an artist it’s like she gave up innovating like a decade ago. Settling for the safety of jazz, rock, and pop, and like this weird altright heterosexual woman she plays in every movie is sort of just It’s clearly all her manager But it’s sad seeing just how much she like fled into the safety of heteronormative art, making edge lord movies for white bros, and only ever playin the gf in an abusive relationship. Like we just deserve better then this How did we go from the fame, born this way, art pop, to… A woman whoes at the peak of her career and only focused on nostalgia

R.I.P. SOPHIE. She is an icon, and she'll always be. Man, I don’t think I'll ever really wrap my mind around her passing. Everytime I think about it, I'm shot back to the day she died. My mom came in my room mentioning she heard about her premature death on the news. My mom never heard SOPHIE's music, she didn't know I was a fan and just asked if I knew who she was, but she could see the moment my stomach dropped when I shakily asked to see the news article just to confirm my worst suspicions. I'd just finished clumsily producing a track inspired by the controlled chaos of Ponyboy and Faceshopping while anxiously awaiting her new releases, and then she was gone... As for this final album, although this project sounds different than I guess I thought it would, I'm content with what we got. Posthumous releases are always touchy, but I do believe that her family would know best that SOPHIE would want these tracks to be heard. In them, I sense a transitionary evolution of her style, but into what, we'll never know for certain. You're right - it's not a conclusion, because sadly, we'll never get one. But it's likely the closest we'll ever get to knowing more of her creative vision, and I'm thankful for that. Your video speaks to that bittersweetness that comes from reflecting on her legacy as a fan, so thank you. Also, just a note: I noticed when you were talking about RAWWWWWW, I think you used he/him for Jozzy, but she's a woman.
@EljohnMacaranas5 сағат бұрын
Thank you so much for the Jozzy clarification, deep apologies! Also yes, your comment honestly captured how I felt that day in January. I couldn't believe it, even after seeing AP confirm it.

SHE WASNT INVOLVED IN MOST OF THESE TRACKS!". anyways, small rant, but i love this album, and seeing people hate on it because it isn't structured like a traditional album just shows how innovative she was, and adds to her statement of not believing in the album format

I can’t lie, I’m currently kind of scared to listen to this album. I fell in love with her music so deeply, her death felt devastating to experience as a fan of her truly one of a kind styles, Immaterial from Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides was a huge part of my recognition of my non-binary gender identity, and has inspired so many stories I’ve planned over time. As much as her legacy will live on and has continued after the accident that took her life, what should be a comma feels like a period. Like a part of her legacy ends when I finish this album, and that feels a little painful to consider. Because even if the rest of that legacy continues, I hate the feeling that even a portion of it must end.

I'm not really a huge jazz fan but I really enjoyed this album. I was really reminded of Amy Winehouse for some reason idk maybe because she's the only jazz/jazz adjacent artist I listen to (speaking of Amy I hope you will eventually cover Back To Black because that's one of my top 3 favorite albums of all time) but I also kinda cried a little the first time I heard it because it really reminded me of her work with Tony Bennett and I know how close they were so it made me a little emotional.
