The Rune is rolling Engineering Art or I guess it could be described as "an Old Man's Bike" Lol.

For many years they were looked at as a cheap poor mans car. Not now. The 1949-51 shoebox Fords are a pleasure to drive & I love that unaltered dash and instruments.

if it were up to me.....I'd turn back the calendar........today's computers of four wheels are the ultimate in planned obsolescence.......and most people don't know it.....transportation is most peoples #2 expense.....everyday basic transportation should not be this expensive to buy and repair.....the people are being robbed everyday......just my opinion....from a 50 year mechanic.....

Curious that it does'nt have a V-8 emblem on the front fender. A Flat-head six perhaps ?

This Beauty was the very last American Ford that we got in Ireland before Ford switched to English imports.

Pretty example. My grandmother had a '49. I always thought the exposed trunk hinges were a nice touch. I like the "slab sides" as opposed to the "power bulge" rear quarters found in most other makes of the era.

Kathleen Turner's voice gets deeper as she gets older. 🤷♀

That might be true although quite what that has to do with this ' women ' looking and sounding like a man is confusing.

I wonder if Jenny got this bike. It is a rare piece of art and she seems to much appreciate the very original condition (except mirrors) of this bike.

I got in on the preorder. I let my other Mojave go when I sold my KLX 300, along with my Rogue dry bag. So, I had to replace them both. 👍 I’ll be at the rally in a couple of weeks, looking forward to my first GL Rally.

If you wanted a tough old car that lasted for ages, a '49 Ford Shoe Box was just the ticket. Those flathead engines were dependable. Give it Motorcraft parts and you got a winner!

That looks cool. I will get a set soon. for a fender tool roll.

Still puzzled as to why backup lights were not made essential equipment on cars by that point in time. It was more than feasible. I should have an automotive engineer, born in say 1918 or close.
