The speed gov limits it to 120 via the stock tune that Indian puts on it from factory. You can get rid of that annoyance with a PVCX from fuel moto. You can also bump up the rev limiter. There tune bumps the rev limiter to 8800rpm which is safe according to Indian. I HIGHLY recommend getting rid of the stock tires before you have more fun though. Michelin Commander II's or III's, or the Pirelli Night Dragons make a HUGE difference.
@SquarewhiteTV3 жыл бұрын
I'm absolutely gonna be grabbing a Power Commander along with a better air intake here shortly. Do you have any idea how many miles I'd be able to get out of the Pirellis? I'm using Shinkos right now, but will need to get new ones soon.

@@SquarewhiteTV With my bobber, I have a little over 8,000 miles on a set and they have a lot of life left. My YZF 450 Supermoto has nearly 17,000 miles on a set of night dragons, still got tread left. My dad has a set on his chief bobber dark horse with around 12,000 miles on them, and Uncle Randy is just over 15,000 miles on his night dragons and they still look good. All and all, pretty good mileage for night dragons so far. The Michelin Commander III's are the longest lasting tires on the market today that I know of. Bit pricey, but excellent tire for mileage. For me, I think the Night Dragon is more sticky of a tire and grips a bit better than the Commander III's, but that is just my personal opinion. Either way you go, the Night Dragons and Commanders are both great tires.

The "annoyance" of not being able to go over 120. Imagine? Yeah, I know, I know, but it's so FUN! But then, whenever I hear about the latest motorcycle fatality, it's always the same story. All the bikers screaming about how people need to be more aware of *them*, but then it's video after video of irresponsible riding and comments like this.

@@Ultranothing speeding on an open street and with no traffic then slowing down when traffic does appear, sounds like a label that can go to any sports car or motorcycle enthusiasts. WOW! Ok, I owned an 883 Sportster ( hated it, it was a dog. ), then a Softail Deluxe, loved it as it was a nice cruiser and carried my wife and I to lots of fun destinations. Now my wife is going to ride solo and I get to switch to a more solo oriented bike. I'm looking at the Indian Scout Bobber ( or Rogue, love the styling of that one ), but with all the comparisons to the Sportster I was beginning to worry. Hey guys I was just wondering if having an steering damper in the scouts could actually save or prevent a potential speed wobble? I've seen this problem in mostly sports bikes and some Harleys but no Indians so far. So you know just precaution.
@SquarewhiteTV3 жыл бұрын
So for cruisers, if you have the engine as a stressed member of the frame you won't need to worry about that speed wobble that some Harleys have. You can still get some from improperly balanced wheels or a legit suspension issue, but that'll be extremely rare.

@@SquarewhiteTV hello sir what do you mean by the engine as a stressed member of the frame?

It means that the engine is not mounted inside a frame, like many other cruisers. The engine is part of the frame, which makes the bike much stiffer and better handling.

Planning to get my first bike after years, and Scout Bobber really took fancy of me. I'm from Indonesia which is in another side of America. I've made pre-order via authorized Polaris Inc Dealer. I'm a new and practically inexperienced rider aside from finishing the msf course. From the moment you take off in the video you start to fly through the gears and I notice at least from that angle it doesn't look like you pull the clutch in when gearing up? From what I thought I knew was that you pull the clutch in- let out slowly/roll on throttle and continue to gear up as you gain speed or rev up, and then roll off through and pull in clutch as you slow down etc. But it seems maybe I've missed something? I do plan on going with the scout bobber as a first bike as I hear it's good for beginners, I've also taken into consideration the triumph street/speed twin, bmw r nine t and as a last option 883.
@SquarewhiteTV3 жыл бұрын
You really have a good eye! I'm doing clutchless upshifts here, which are marginally faster than pulling clutch, applying throttle, then clutching out. My fellow KZbinr Jim Bobbington did a video about it that I can link you kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4HMe6ydbKiJppY
@SquarewhiteTV3 жыл бұрын
Also, I did a video about the Scout as a first bike. It's the one I learned on, too. If you don't go with the Indian, I'd pick the Triumph or the BMW, those are both solid bikes with plenty of room for you to grow into. I probably wouldn't go with the 883 unless you just really love the looks.
@JohnMichaelsHeyGirrrllThe3rd3 жыл бұрын
@@SquarewhiteTV Nice. Yea I'm leaning towards the Indian, the styling of it looks really good, I'm really attracted to it and the performance from what I know is great aswell. I have 1 more question, did you ever find the lean angle too short or lacking on the bobber
@SquarewhiteTV3 жыл бұрын
I do scrape pegs a lot, especially where I live with tight corners everywhere in the country. It’s not something you’d have to worry about for a long awhile as new rider though, since you have to be going pretty fast in turns to need that much lean angle
It looked quite nervous after 100 MPH. Although it’s decently fast bike up to 60.

I have a 2016 scout. Just did a long ride across PA with 2 other Harley 1800cc's... My scout gets wobbly 90+. Bike is just not built for speed. Quick and poppy. Has to be ridden in the higher RPM"s to compete with the bigger V engines. Loud as heck but if you can get it in the 6-8K RPM range that's where the power is. Did not enjoy riding any stretch over 80 just because of the shear wind in the chest/face. GREAT bike for around town and hopping to friend's places. Occasional long ride is OK but you'll be stopping every 100 miles to fuel up. If there was a "Town Cruiser" Category I would put the Scout in it.
