Thank you professor, I was looking for psychological conclusions for Design Thinking tutorials from quite some time. I find your analogy and clarity on the content is great. Your way of explanation shows Design Thinking.

Thank you, Soma! I'm glad you caught that meta moment - using Design Thinking to design a lecture on Design Thinking. :-) If you're interested in psychology and design, there's a book I recommend (if you haven't already read it): 100 Things Every Designer Needs to Know About People.

I teach high school (seniors) Design & Technology. These videos are brilliant for explaining design thinking for my students. I only wish I'd found these a couple of years ago.

Thank you so much, Christine. This means so much to me. I have been teaching 18-year-olds for over 30 years, so I have gotten better at distilling information so they can take it and run with it.

Thank you for creating and sharing this informative and engaging video series! I show it in my innovation and entrepreneurship classes in the United Arab Emirates and they're very helpful! One question: I appreciate the style of your videos: how do you record them with the transparent board and luminescence?

I have to say this ... when you said it is human centered, as if you were saying the past design was animal centered. Who were you design for in the past ... I thought it was for humans ?
@MindfulMarks

“Human-centered” means that the people you are designing or creating services and products for are included in the development process through various collaborative methods. There are MANY industries, companies, and organizations that never consult with the people using their products and services - I have trained some of them to shift. So maybe we would call the prior methods “engineering-centered design” or “marketing-centered design“ or “management-centered design” or take your pick of where the process was focused. Things are changing. I am now keenly interested in and researching planet-centered design. This approach takes into account the planet impact of a product or service - climate, resources, etc. - and is for the benefit of all beings - not just people and profits at the expense of the future of a habitable planet.

@@MindfulMarks Thanks, I do get it. ... I think the concept is more on intention than practicality. For example living in this materialistic world and our attachment to it, I believe we do not need another product to make us happy and fulfilled.

@@endalkachewy I am with you 100%. So many, many things should never be made. We do not need more products.
