It's the penultimate video for the 009 Corris Series, and the final one to include green scenery! Watch as I create a little station and platform area, a long retaining wall for the railway to run along, and see my cat..
cheers

Puffs a Ragdoll, and she’s extremely cuddly and clingy, you won’t see her in the other shots, but she’s either on my lap, sitting on the workbench when I’m building stock, or in the floor if I’m on the layout!

Suggestion for making joins for slate or any geometric wall texture, such as brick. Cut the join with the pattern on each end so they interlace with one another. Helps hide the join.

If ever anyone needs convincing to have ago then they need to watch this series. I've just binged watched this Corris series and I think you have finally convinced a 1/72 military modeller to convert to rail, plus my recent trip on the Talyllyn helped. Another go on the Talyllyn this weekend booked with a stop at Corris on the way home ( I'm lucky enough to live quite locally ).👍

Hi George, great videos, enjoying the modelling techniques even though I model in a much larger scale. BTW, your 'stabby tool' is a scriber, primarily used to mark out metal, but really useful as anything you need a point for!.

Another fantastic episode of the Corris series! The verticality of the the station platform with the retaining wall gives the whole end of the layout a very appealing look and does a great job of emphasizing the small scale of the narrow gauge. Those slab trestle wagons are real gems... such distinctive stock! I'm interested in how you make your DIY scenery filler. What sort of materials go into that? Is it mostly a home-grown trial-and-error thing or did you have any particular resource that helped nail down how to do it? Can't wait for the final episode next week. Keep up the great work!
@GWilliamsonModels
@GWilliamsonModels Жыл бұрын
Thankyou, its taken a lot of work to get to this point, obviously you only see snippets of the work involved, but it’s been great fun! If you mean the filler I apply over the foam, that is literally household DIY filler, comes as a powder and you add water to the consistency you want, and I add a few drops of paint to tone it down as it’s bright white from the box. The dirt and leave scatters are something I make myself, not much intelligence involved though, the dirt is dried and sieved, and the dead leaves are blended to the smaller size! Thanks for your comment, and I hope you enjoy the next series!
@redtrain9419
@redtrain9419 Жыл бұрын
@@GWilliamsonModels Ah yeah, I was meaning the filler used on the foam; I suppose I got the wrong implication from "DIY" filler. I figured it was something you made yourself! Noted for the future... I would certainly rather not end up paying more for the same product with a Woodland Scenics (or similar) label slapped on the tin. I've been pulled back down the OO9 rabbithole lately by managing to bag an Ashover crimson livery Baldwin... and with Bachmann's Gloucester coaches on the way, I might have to put some of these techniques to use on a diorama for them. That is if I can pry my interests away from the Talyllyn...! Will definitely be on the lookout for future videos!

Thankyou so much, I use a huge range of brushes, though they’re not any particular make, some are Windsor & Newton, or Princeton select liners, or a cheap make from eBay called Weizhuang. The sizes vary from 0000 right up to ‘bloody huge’, but mostly I used 0 to 000. Hope this helps!
