Hi everyone, just to let you know, I did open a Patreon. I have no intention of making KZbin my sole occupation, but I wanted to give people the option to directly support the channel (if they want to). All videos will still be publicly posted. I plan to use the money to up video quality (also my chair's armrest kinda broke) The page is still under development while I get feedback, but I hope to let supporters vote on future videos to some degree. I wrote out a more detailed pitch on the page itself if you're interested: www.patreon.com/Pseudiom

No pressure. I can survive without it. I just wanted to have a system for fans to vote on videos if they want to directly support me. Viewership is always enough!

I just got back to listening to 009 sound Systems songs after I heard a part of DreamScape in a Roblox video I watched, I instantly remembered that that was the song that 3 year old me heard in almost all the train crash videos I watched lol.

I've always remembered hating Dreamscape, wasn't until SiIvagunner's King For A Day tournament until I realized the nostalgia I had for it and the fact that it's actually a pretty good song.

Making this video, I also realized I do in fact like it. Its not a favorite song, but its very good for what it wants to be.

In a way, 009 Sound System influenced modern day EDM. Think about labels like NCS and artists like TheFatRat who's music can be used without any cost on KZbin as long as you provide proper credit. I feel like we wouldn't have the Alan Walkers and Marshmellos of today without 009 Sound System. And ironically, we wouldn't have 009 Sound System today (at least, in as large of a scale as then) due to how incompatible his style is with modern popular EDM. 009 Sound System could only really exist in a time of deadmau5 and Eric Prydz.

Good old "how to do computer thing" videos, the good old days when stuff was so antiquated that you needed a tutorial to do anything.

13:04 that's interesting seeing the term futurefunk used way before vaporwave or futurefunk became genre's.

Im shocked no one ever talks about the strange christian lyrics within 009 Sound System songs or Violate, a blatently anti-us imperialism song.

I think because most people assume its just background and dance music. After listening to some of Perls songs several times, I noticed how very 2004-2008 political they were since Perls was a pretty active liberal during that time. He sort of acknowledges it on his website. But I'm not exactly sure what he's done in the past 5 years or so. He kinda just left the public.

I noticed that about Violate, I wonder how many people realize that in the song.

Hey, I was wondering why you use so many paintings from around the Romantic era in your intro? Also why did you choose some of them to be more prominent than others like how the intro holds on Wanderer above the Sea of Fog for slightly longer than some other paintings?
@Pseudiom4 жыл бұрын
The intro is a very old relic from Pseudiom's origins. I think it was the first thing I made for the channel 2 or 3 years ago. It really needs to be updated by now, but I don't have the talent to. I like art and Romantic paintings are generally the most popular ones people know. The way I decided was pretty random beside trying to put them in a historical sequence. Romantic paintings just have a sense of exploration/awe I like. Pseudiom is also about wandering so that's why "Wanderer above the Sea of Fog" is emphasized and the last painting is "Wanderer in the Storm" by Julius von Leypold.

Have you heard of KPM? A library of music ready to.be licensed by movies and tv shows. Remember Funky Fanfare? That's from KPM. Many of their scores are pretty good groovy music from the 60s-70s. A joy to listen. Fortunately, they digitalized their whole catalogue.

I remember way back when I first got on to KZbin through a Star fox assault let’s play that I remember hearing it. At the time I thought it was a nice tune and I didn’t feel strongly about it but I do remember hearing it at one point. Not surprised to see it was disliked though nostalgia tends to change our opinion on things (can you call the recent wave of Star Wars prequel love nostalgia or is it simply all memes?) I mean Jetix was almost the same way, hated first beloved after it’s gone.

Wait, KZbin was more strict with copyrighted music back in the day? I don't remember that. I remember seeing tons of videos using popular early 2000s music from the likes of Evanescence, System Of A Down, Fall Out Boy, and even other various songs from Darude, ATC, and Scatman John. Was this only during the beginning of KZbin circa 2005 - 2007 and copyright didn't take effect until 2008 and onward? Regarding Dreamscape, I heard it quite a few times back in the day, but I didn't really think much of it aside from, "Oh this song again... must be pretty popular." Years later though while I don't seek it out intentionally, when I hear it, it brings a smile to my face.
@Pseudiom4 жыл бұрын
Most of that is due to the Viacom lawsuit. KZbin was actually rather lax on visual content before the Viacom lawsuit in 2007. Evanescence, System of a Down, and a few more were also actually KZbin/label-approved alongside 009 Sound System songs. You could use them on AudioSwap on the same grounds you could "Dreamscape" and others. The current Content ID system was really only put in place in 2008. Until 2011-2012 (when the Viacom lawsuit was finalized), KZbin was pretty harsh on copyrighted visual content and audio content. Its rather lax today, but will never return to pre-2007/2008 levels. As a side note, that's why Anime AMVs saw a decline after 2008. I remember between 2006-2008, they dominated KZbin. Hell, I remember being able to watch subbed Anime on KZbin until around 2011 or so. That's when Japanese companies really started cracking down.

It's not bad music. Not the kind I would actually go and listen to, but it's fine... as long as you don't have to listen to it for hours across dozens of videos.

I couldn't stand the song, and I still get nauseous when I hear it. As an aside, I remember when AMVs seemed to dominate KZbin, almost always with that one Evanescence song, or that one Linkin Park song. I just realised I know the majority of the lyrics, but not the actual names of the songs.
