Work here in 2010 for MAS in the hangars, lived in subang parade. God I miss those days.

This was once a place filled with large aircraft like the 747, DC10 and other legends. Now as if forgotten and only seen as a cargo and small airport

This place is anything but a forgotten airport. It's the hub for domestic travels across peninsular Malaysia. If you've ever traveled in Peninsular Malaysia you should have at least flown to this airport once.

Its not forgotten. Its the main military base for the Air Force. Don't forget KLIA is not a military airport.

That A330 and the MWG ATRs was what made me go spotting that day.... Or else I would have drove back to my hometown right after my morning shift. I left right after the A330 took off in order to beat the rush hour traffic, so I didn't wait for LGD to depart. According to FR24, it was OD1266 to Kota Bharu

Theoretically, yes. Runway is more than enough. Practically, not advisable. The taxiways are too narrow, the outboard engines may get FOD. And Subang's fire and rescue service can't cater aircraft that size without notice in advance

Actually no even for diversion the closest aerodrome in our region able to handle the super is SIN and BKK besides KUL. but if really dire emergency then why not. Just land and park on the rwy 😂

@@DanielQihuaiNg outboard engines (engines 1 & 4) can be off during txy. Interestingly, Even for takeoff at rwys where possible fod or slush there is a procedure to power up just the 2 inboard engines initially, then after gaining speed the outboard engines joins in.
