That's what I'm referring to the ashuri alphabet. Interesting enough, the Gemara brings down 3 opinion concerning this alphabet where one says that it was borrowed by the Assyrians and the other two seem to imply that it came with Moses following Exodus. But archaeologically speakig, the first opinion that I listed has more support.

i would like to see the original letters of aramaic, you could do a video showing the original writting.and you could explain a bit of aramaic language.thanks for the lessons, very good, interesting to learn old languages
Very interesting In Brazilian Portuguese for exemple you have ה ח ר all with different r sounds just like Aramaic. Also the days of the week is like the Hebrews Shabat is Sabado, Monday is Segunda-feira meaning second day of the week. I read that in the 1500s over 2 million Hebrews migrated from Iberia to Brazil.

Original letters of Aramaic? Aramaic has went through many scripts, so the original isn't found. Since this is Aramaic for the Jerusalem Talmud, the only alphabet you're going to see used is the Hebrew script used in it.
As an aramean i can say that this is in fact not aramaic.

+Der “Aramäer” Yes, it is Aramaic - from circa 200AD to around 600AD. Modern Aramaic is similar, but has developed, just as modern French has developed fom Latin.

I looked online, and found out that it is another name for the talmud yerushalmi, or the jerusalem talmud. I study talmud almost every day, and no one I've ever studied with has used this name. I still don't understand why they choose to teach the language of the yerushalmi, as the babylonian talmud is the prominent talmud any jew learns.

1. That's because the name "Palestinian" was given to it by European theologians since most of them were Christians. The Jews, of course, always referred to it as Yerushalmi. 2. Perhaps, as the majority of the People of Yisrael are in the Land of Yisrael, it is time to move from the Talmud of Galut (Bavli) to the Talmud Yerushalmi? I know, this is a bit of a controversial idea, but I think it has some merit.

You do realize that Palestine is the name that the conquering gave to the Jewish province of Judea. Look it up.

In western academia, Palestine is used as a geographical term and is politically neutral just as Anatolia is used for present day Turkey.

Yes it is. Assyrian tradition uses a different alphabet, albeit the letters are named slightly differently, but the language is the same.
