#01: Jay Introduces a New & Devastating Book on the Qur'an's Historical Origins

Al Fadi and Dr. Jay begin a brand new series focused on a new book published in August of 2022 by the University of Oregon scholar/professor Dr Stephen Shoemaker, entitled “Creating the Qur’an.”

Well, the author has certainly done his part. It is available free to download, if you want to share material from it with others, or share the electronic form online. If you can get a copy for your church resource library and speak to the youth groups about the importance of showing that Islam really is just a house built on sand with no foundations that would be a good start. Unfortunately, it won't be any good for teaching in many schools though because even the curriculums have been captured by people who are either too left and don't care about what they teach, or influenced by Islamist groups like the Islamic Brotherhood. If it were the Christian Brotherhood the teachers would be all against it, but when it comes to the false religion they are afraid of being called Islamophobes.

I found Shoemaker making statements about early Christian Scripture from a limited Bart Ehrman critique. Yet he was taking the extremes of Bart's views rather than some of his concessions Bart gives when pressed by other scholars. In other words, Shoemaker misrepresent early Christian literature by disciples of the Apostles and the Apostles themselves. He also at the point of my reading assumes early copies are similar to today's. But early writings we have in possession are much different and have been severely edited within these copies. Maybe he Is not aware of the approximately forty versions still out today.

You can google for 'tomb of adam' and one of the images is from an alleged gravesite purporting to have graves for both adam and eve, and they're both super-long while being barely wider than a normal person's grave. If someone were 90 feet tall, their being 16x as tall means they should be both 16x wider and 16x deeper, which means their body size would have 4000x the volume, meaning they would weight over 200 tons and would need to eat 4000x as much as we eat. The Holy Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad ( pbuh ) in the span of 23 yrs , for the whole of mankind . Not only to the lost sheep of Israel . Unlike previous Scriptures that were sent to a certain people , for a certain time . The Almighty God did not saw it fit to preserve their messages . But since the Quran was for all mankind , for all time , it was preserved to the letter . That is why today , you have over 1 billion Muslims , from all different parts of the world , reciting the same prayers , word for word , from the same Quran . That is why , there are over 2 million Muslims from all across the globe , who have memorized the same Quran , word for word . You can lie how much you want , but this would never changed the fact that the Holy Quran , is the same message revealed to our Prophet , 1400 yrs ago . If all the Holy books were destroyed , all wold be lost , except the Holy Quran , which would be reproduced the very next day , letter for letter , word for word . My friend , these facts alone , makes you out to be a liar .

Why would a message for mankind be revealed in a language that is hard to translate and all islamic authorities say it has to be read in arabic to be properly understood. You say its the same message revealed to muhammad but even muslim apologists now concede it has been altered. The most popular recitation is the hafs recitation which was chosen in 1924, revised in the 1930's then canonized in the mid 1980's so how can it be the same message? There are over 50 verse variants between the hafs and warsh recitation. The claim that its unchanged is now weak.

Let me give you modern example. - American accent, dialect, expression and phrases are different than British, Aussie and Asian continent. (Quran 5:68) Plus: Quran 5:47, 3:3-4, 5:43-46, 3:55, 61:14, 5:66, 5:68, 10:94, 35:31, 10:37, 6:92, 34:31 and 5:48 just as an example of some of verses that confirm the Book the “People of the Book” had was true. Now you should note that we have thousands of Biblical manuscripts from the time of you prophet and before, and you should also note that the Gospels were written in Hebrew, Aramaic, Syriac, Latin, Coptic, and Greek. Let me be clear about this. If the Quran confirms the “that which came before” and then contradicts “that which came before”, then it is the Quran that has problems not the other way around.

The Quran is the most recent Book revealed and it acts as a Criterion over current Scriptures of the past. Example is as follows: There are various beliefs on who the guests received by Abraham were. The guests received by Abraham and visited Lot that is mentioned in Genesis (in the Torah) were angels. Allah chooses from the angels, messengers and from men. Surely, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing. (Al-Quran 22: 75) In the Quran, the guests are referred to as Messengers: And certainly did Our rusul (messengers) come to Abraham with good tidings; they said, "Peace." He said, "Peace," and did not delay in bringing a roasted calf. But when he saw their hands not reaching for it, he distrusted them and felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not. (Al-Quran 11: 71-73) Angel in form of a man informing the coming of a newborn child is consistent with angel Gabriel coming in form of a man announcing to Mary about her future son, Jesus as mentioned in the in the 19th chapter of the Quran. It is also consistent with angel informing Zachariah of the news of his newborn child, John. Both incidents mentioned in the Gospels. They said, "O Lot, indeed we are rusul (messengers) of your rabb (lord); [therefore], they will never reach you. So set out with your family during a portion of the night and let not any among you look back - except your wife; indeed, she will be struck by that which strikes them. Indeed, their appointment is [for] the morning. Is not the morning near?" (Al-Quran 11: 81) The guests identified themselves to Lot as messengers. [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals, Except the family of Lot; indeed, we will save them all Except his wife." Allah decreed that she is of those who remain behind. (Al-Quran 15: 57-60) Abraham referred to them as messengers and not lords. Nor could he order you to take the angels and prophets as arbaban (lords). Would he order you to disbelief after you had been Muslims? (Al-Quran 3: 80)
