#39: Jay DESTROYS THE BIOGRAPHY OF MUHAMMAD in 20 minutes!

Everyone knows the biography of Muhammad, right?
We have all been told that he was born in Mecca IN 570 AD, started to receive the Qur'an in 610 AD, was taken up in the middle of the night on the back of a winged horse called the 'Buraq' in 621 AD (known as the 'Mi'raj'), moved to Medina in 622 AD (referred to as the 'Hijra'), conquered Mecca in 630 AD, and then died of poisoning by his Jewish wife in 632 AD.
But where do all these stories come from?
You would assume they were all written down by someone who saw what he did, or at least heard what he said during his lifetime, and in the place these events occurred, correct?
That is what should have happened, but the historical truth is nothing of the kind.
The first person to write down Muhammad's biography (the Sira) was supposedly a fellow named Ibn Ishaq, who died in 765 AD; yet that's over 130 years after Muhammad died.
Unfortunately, we don't have any book or manuscript from him at all. The biography we do have was written by Ibn Hisham, who died in 833 AD, which is around 200 years after Muhammad.
We then have Al Waqidi's biography who died in 835 AD, followed by 6 authoritative Hadith compilers (what Muhammad supposedly said), such as: Al Bukhari (d.870 AD), Sahih Muslim (d.875 AD), At-Tirmidhi (d.884 AD), Ibn Majah (d.887 AD), Abu Dawud (d.899 AD), and finally An-Nisa'i (d.915 AD).
The other two Traditions concern the Tafsir (the Commentaries), and the Tahrikh (the Histories), which were first compiled by Al Tabari (d.923 AD).
Notice that all of these compilers of Muhammad's Traditions lived 200 - 300 years after Muhammad died, so it's clear that none of them knew Muhammad or heard what he said, since they didn't even exist in his century.
But that's not the only problem, the Islamic Traditions tell us that everything happened in Mecca and Medina (in the Hijaz which is located in Western Central Arabia). Yet, all of the writers of the Traditions listed above worked in Baghdad, which is 1,200 miles to the north of the Hijaz.
Ibn Hisham (the compiler of the first Sira) is from Basra (located 1,200 miles from the Hijaz), but he grew up in Cairo (located 990 miles from the Hijaz).
Al Bukhari, the compiler of the first Hadith, is from Bukhara, which is located 2,600 miles from the Hijaz, while Al Tabari, the first to compile the Tafsir & Takhrikh, is from Tabaristan, located 1,700 miles from the Hijaz.
Clearly, none of these Traditional writers lived or worked in Mecca or Medina. They were too far to the north of Mecca (in the Hijaz), and came from the West and East of Baghdad, which is where the Abbasids originated from.
When we compare them with Christianity, we find that all of the Christian writers of Jesus' Traditions were much earlier:
The Sira, written by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, wrote between 70-90 AD, which is within 37-57 years of Christ's death.
The Hadith, again, written by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were compiled within 37-57 years of Jesus' death.
The Tafsir was written by Paul between 48-65 AD, which is 15-34 years after Jesus' died.
The Tahrikh was written by Luke between 52-62 AD, or around 20-30 years after the crucifixion.
What is noteworthy is that all of these New Testament writers lived in the same place Jesus lived; so they either knew him personally, or they got their material from others who saw what he did, and heard what he said.
The Traditions of Jesus were compiled 15-60 years after Jesus' death by those who either knew him or took their material from those who did, while the Traditions of Muhammad were all compiled 200-300 years after his death, and compiled 100s of miles from where he supposedly lived.
Which Traditions do you think are the more authoritative?
As a comparison, if we had to depend on sources for Jesus' life and ministry, comparable to what Muslims are dependent on for Muhammad, Jesus would not begin to appear in any writing until the 3rd century! How would we be able to defend him historically?
Before we go, there is one correction I need to make...I noted above that the biography of Muhammad was first created by Ibn Hisham in 833 AD. But we don't have any manuscripts from that century written by him at all. So, where did his biography really come from?
According to the German Inarah scholars, there was nothing written down about Muhammad’s life up to 1819 AD.
This needed to be rectified, so a German scholar named Heinrich Ferdinand Wustenfeld (who lived between 1808-1899 AD), went to libraries and museums in 4 German cities between 1858-1860 AD and compiled the first Sira ever written down, which is the biography we all use today, first translated into French, and then into English.
In 1967 Fouad Sezgin compiled another Sira from documents found in Morocco.
So, the biography we all use today to know what Muhammad did was written a little more than 160 years ago, and over 1,000 years after he supposedly lived!

Maybe, before Christianity, the Romans had thought of the idea that the name of their religion would be Romanticity, or Romanticism. But their bishops maintained the name of their religion as Christianity since they are using Prophet jESUs (pbuh) as their god. It is for this reason that no Jew in Israel, a place where he came from, did not recognize him as some kind of a divine being. Thus, the Jews maintained their religion as Judaism. Christianity thrived only in Rome. Hence, the name "Jesus" does not ring a bell today in Israel. If you ask a Jew today in Israel if he knows "Jesus", his answer will be a resounding NO.!!! While Ibn Kathir was even later than the C9th, living in the C14th, it's still a Sira that was compiled centuries before Wustenfeld's compilation. Why do Muslims lie? What is taqiyya and why does it matter? Ask a Muslim and these are the typical responses: 1. Taqiyya is only for the Shia 2. It's only for defense 3. It's not allowed 4. Christians also do Taqiyya 5. Taqiyya is not lying 6. You can't possibly understand it 7. I've never heard of it 8. There's no such thing 9. It's only when your life is threatened 10. It's only during times of war Islam is a religion of war and its core strategy is deception. The doctrine of deception is called "taqiyya" by the Shia and "muda’rat" by the Sunni. The general term for all Muslims is "hiyal" i.e. "legalistic trickery". Taqiyya comes straight from Quran 2:225: "Allah will not hold you accountable for unintentional oaths, but for what you intended in your hearts. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Forbearing." Also, in Quran 3:28, the word for "precaution" is تقية which is Taqiyya according to the qiraat by Ya'qub al-Yamani. "Let not believers take disbelievers as allies rather than believers. And whoever does that has nothing with Allah, except when taking precaution (تقية i.e. Taqiyya) against them in prudence. And Allah warns you of Himself, and to Allah is the [final] destination." All Muslims do taqiyya and tap dance. I have never met one who actually answers your questions. They are behaving like Allah. Quran 3:54 says "ومكروا ومكر الله والله خير الماكرين" "And they deceived and Allah deceived, and Allah is the best the deceivers." Taqiyya has 2 forms: (1) defense against religious persecution or (2) jihadist weapon against unbelievers. Muslims will always insist on the first form when asked about taqiyya and hide the second form from the kuffar. It is the second form of taqiyya which is practised every single day on KZbin. There are 3 main strategies in taqiyya (or muda'rat or hiyal): (1) Muruna - “Flexibility” to blend in with the enemy or surroundings, like drinking beer or being tolerant of gay people, believing that it is permissible to deceitfully behave in an un-Islamic manner if it serves the greater goal of advancing Islam. (2) Tawriya - “Creative lying” or doublespeak where the speaker says something that means one thing while the listener thinks it means something else, during which the speaker’s words technically support the listener’s alternate meaning. (3) Kitman - Telling only part of the truth. For example if a Muslim were to say that jihad refers to an “internal spiritual struggle” when actually only a few passages in the Quran refer to it that way and the vast majority of verses refer to jihad as "forceful" or "external" violent, coercive jihad to spread the religion. The ultimate aim of taqiyya (or muda'rat or hiyal) is to mislead. Muslims don't regard misleading statements as lying. The rest of the world do. So when you speak to a Muslim, expect him to mislead you. Misrepresentation, dissembling, gaslighting, doublespeak, etc. are 100% ok by Muslims and sanctioned by Allah and the "Best Example for Humanity" Muhammad. An example of taqiyya is "Islam is a religion of peace". After intense cross examination, and if you're lucky, the Muslim will admit that what he actually means is "Islam is a religion of peace AFTER the whole world converts to Islam (and the Islam of his sect and his particular teacher)." There is never actual truth from a Muslim, not in the way Christians and other non-Muslims define "truth". Muslims just regard all sorts of intentional misrepresentation as permissable and not lying. Muslims are allowed and obligated to lie to spread Islam. Almost any kind of lie is permissible. Muslims can even tell you lies about Islam, denying embarrassing verses in the Quran or Hadith and even doing taqiyya about taqiyya (“inception” lying). For example, disguising hostility as grievance. “It was in self-defence”, Muslims say, when their religion has killed 700m-1.2b people in its spread over 14 centuries with 80m-400m just in India alone. A recent example of taqiyya which you can view on KZbin is Muslim apologist Mohammed Hijab saying to a group of women: "You can lie to your spouse. The Prophet says you can do it. It doesn’t have to be a white lie. It can be a black lie." (June 2023) The best reference for taqiyya is from someone regarded by most Muslims as the greatest Imam of all - Hamid al-Ghazali. In the treatise on Sharia Law “Reliance of the Traveller”, Hamid al-Ghazali, the most renowned Sunni theologian of the Seljuq period (1038-1194) was quoted as saying “Speaking is a means to achieve objectives. If a praiseworthy aim is attainable through both telling the truth and lying, it is unlawful to accomplish it through lying because there is no need for it. When it is possible to achieve such an aim by lying but not by telling the truth, it is permissible to lie if attaining the goal is permissible..., and obligatory to lie if the goal is obligatory. ...One should compare the bad consequences entailed by lying to those entailed by telling the truth, and if the consequences of telling the truth are more damaging, one is entitled to lie …”. Most non-Muslims are completely bamboozled by this. Especially Christians. Little old Christian ladies would chide other Christians for lying about Christianity even if it was done to "protect" or "spread" the religion. Most non-Muslims just cannot compute that a religion can allow and even oblige its followers to lie to defend and spread the religion. They keep defending Muslims and insist that "all religions teach honesty" and "all religions teach peace". It’s quite comical and sad. Can you imagine having a taqiyya spouting Muslim as a co-worker or boss or family member or politician? Can you imagine an entire nation made up mostly of Muslims like Pakistan or Iran or Saudi Arabia? Can you imagine all that taqiyya dissembling where every sentence by every person is forked-tongue doublespeak obfuscation? Can you imagine having a joint-venture partner who doesn't see misrepresentation as dishonesty? No wonder most of the failed states and worst nations are Muslim countries. Muslims lie and deflect with taqiyya because they KNOW or STRONGLY SUSPECT that Islam is man-made fraud. They just want to sustain their political power much like the Nazis or Communists. This is their favorite SOP: 1. Claim immediately you’re taking things out of context. 2. Use abrogated verses like 2-256 "No compulsion in religion" 3. Insult you or your intelligence e.g. "You know nothing ..." 4. Declare hadiths to be "daif" even when they are SAHIH 5. Change the topic e.g. to their favorite "God can't have a son" 6. The oldest Gita copy CANNOT be from 1492. Sanskrit was created in the 1700s. If Gita is in Sanskrit, it would have to be from the 1800s or later. Don't also forget that 'Hinduism' came into being because of the writings of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (1888-1975) in the 1920s. Before that there was the Brahman religion (multiple sects) and myriad other belief systems in India.

A few points to consider: (a) The manuscripts available in the Middle East and Europe, except for some papyrus ones, are almost always of animal skin/leather. Indian brahmins (the rest of the Indians were illiterate) did not touch animal products. Hence no leather used for any of the Brahmin or Buddhist writings. So, whatever was written was on the palm leaves. Nothing of substance was found on any of the old palm leaves. (b) The British Government set up a project in the 1880s - to collect all Indian manuscripts. Although 1000s were collected, hardly any of them were more than a couple of hundred years old. Only ONE Veda manuscript was located - by, not an Indian, but a German adventurer! Written on birch bark, in Kashmir. It was not in Sanskrit. And it was FRESHLY WRITTEN! So, no Vedas existed before 1880! (c) Because of the many claims made by the Indians, the British Government recorded the Ayurveda - in book form - many writings, only in 1941. There was not a single Ayurveda manuscript in 1880.

“Heart” is a faculty that thinks/understands and is the seat of soul. In some of the most poetic verses of surah Al-Nur(Verse 35). Quran describes Soul as Light and heart as a Mirror. If the mirror is unclean due to horrible character, then the light from soul cannot be reflected thru the dusty mirror. Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) said:” I was not sent but to perfect human character”. So only way to clean the mirror of heart and allow the light of Allah to reflect is to improve one’s moral character via complete submission to Allah(one/indivisible) and worship is the ultimate expression of love.

I see many people confusing what we as Christian's regard as "The Book". Our book is a library, not a single work. There are also many other manuscripts that are not included within this one bound library or canon. The historical and community use of these other materials give witness to how the Christian community developed. These are not only in the Roman world, but in Egypt and India. So, we can say without doubt, the Christian way was spread far and wide without any imperial influence before the 4th century.
