I'm struck again by the similarities in Ritchie's manner of speaking to that of Ian Paice. Same inflections, mannerisms and pauses.

Mr. Richie Blackmore, I love the way your playing the guitar! With all respect, your a greatest talent, it’s how you’re making This Band Rainbow . You’re a perfectionist your want thé best! And seriously, your right! This other music your making with a beautiful voice, your Lady, in Blackmore Night is so beautifully played, I feel if I’m in another timeframe. The frontman from nowadays Rainbow, is Wow, when’s The Band playing it’s all coming together, Super! I hope you to seeing your Music in the Netherlands 🙏

Sad that Ritchie and Ian cannot pull it together one more time. I think a large outdoor festival would be the way to do that of course with other ig groups to pull in the crowds.

Do you really think it would be good? I think it’s about 15 years too late. Age has caught up with both of them. Like all of us. You can only go to “that place” so many times. And age plays a factor. Especially when playing fast, aggressive music.
@cricket86462 жыл бұрын
@@stormbringercoming8105 I saw Carlos Santana about 2 months ago at New ampitheatre outside of Nashville. He is 74yo and he opened with a blistering 23 min instrumental and it was stunning !! I saw him 20 years ago and it was better this time. Iommi of Sabbath is still the riff master and hasn't lost anything. You could be right age affects some more harshly than others. Oh I just saw Alice Cooper a couple of months ago too and he is 73 yo he was all over the stage and at the top of his game. Another is Michael Schenker. I saw UFO in 1976 warm up for RUSH 2112 tour. Schenker just put out 2 albums over the pandemic he is a bit younger at 66 but it is very fast aggresive music ! The Rainbow shows that were done in Europe a few years were lacking though Ritchie has been playing with Blackmores Night too too long. He has softened a bit.

@nathanevangello33763 жыл бұрын
@@blackpurple2230 blackmores slide technique is rare and hard but brilliant, he place the slide over his palm and frets it by holding it with index finger up and the other 3 fingers down, so he doesnt need to put the slide on a finger, yet using one its hidden behind the fretting fingers. and the way he sounds with his technique its another achievement in itself if u ask me.

I never really understood why he talked about wanting to play the Strat until I saw that fretboard. I need to stop buying guitars and start wearing mine out.
@cricket86463 жыл бұрын
The neck is scalloped on purpose like a Lyre. Malmsteen uses a scalloped neck too. I am sure there are probably others as well. It makes it easier to bend notes however, by the same token the touch is very light and the accuracy has to be at the utmost level to accomplish getting the proper sound out.
@WillieDines13 жыл бұрын
Richie done the scalloping of the fretboard himself on his kriginal strat because he wanted to make is easier for the string be ds and also it allowed to him to play jsing a lighter tiuch, so he would be able tolay faster on solos if he wanted too. It took him about 3 weeks to do it because he was just using sandpaper and doing it carefully.
@jonp38903 жыл бұрын
@@cricket8646 I used to think that, that you would need an extra light touch, but you really don’t, unless you use 7 or 8 gauge strings. I have the Blackmore signature Strat, and I was bit worried about such a big purchase, about whether I would have the right touch for it, but the only way it goes out of tune is if you really press down hard, which almost nobody who has been playing for more than a year or two will do. But yeah, it sure does make bending notes a whole lot easier. No slippage at all. Awesome guitar, best Fender I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned a few.

Romero in my view, seems to do a great job on the Gillan and Turner stuff, but tries too hard on the Dio stuff, bordering on karaoke. If he chilled out on the Dio stuff, then I think he would sound better.

@@dazmondeo im chilean as Romero, but a massive blackmore fan above all things first, and its incredible how Romero got the job, there arent singers in this lands up there to ritchies standards, in terms of stage presence, vocal range flexability and a tone of their own, Romero is a good singer but if ur work as a singer its just being a cheap Dio copycat, at this stage if ritchies life, then i guess money glues anything, but i got to give him credit for waiting for a sign, wich is a good new tune. after all its a chilean thing most of the time being a wannabe while not being good at it. there are fairly rare good singers down here, and theyre very few. gato alquinta was one of them, and fairly a voice ive never heard the same as him on no one, even his son and daugther whom sing very good, but never had that tone on their voices. thats why i say great singers around here its a rare thing no matter how hard most of us try.

thing is because blackmore cant play fast like he used to if the rest of the band started really rocking out with crazy bass playing and smashing the drums complete with prancing around in open jackets and flares Ritchie would end up being drowned out completely.

The singer did okay (though completely lacks the dimensionality of RJD's voice). Until "Stargazer." He literally sang the entirety of "Stargazer" a semi-tone below the correct pitch for literally every vocal melody in the song. It's like someone tuned a singing machine down a half-step. Unbelievable. I couldn't finish listening to that one. Painful. It's just obvious that his singing is pitched down exactly one half-step. The dissonance where I can recall RJD's correct vocal melodies is striking. I'm baffled. How can someone sing in the wrong tuning as if their voice is a guitar set in the wrong tuning? And how did Blackmore get into this situation? I must admit I'm a bit stunned.

@@peteyoung7665 Except that Dio didn't sing "Stargazer" a semi-tone flat. That's pretty bad for any "professional" singer.
