If one knows kids, one knows any generation. Children don't change, for if they have changed, they have grown up. Adults and the toys children get are what change. A child will play with physical toys just the same as any other if kept away from electronics. A typical child from the 40s will love Thomas the Tank engine as much as any child today, even if crazy parents find it "problematic" and too "masculine." Same with cars, soldiers, dolls and building blocks. I'm lucky my parents got me a hoard of videocasettes and CD-ROMs, with no internet until I needed it for school. I hope others do the same to keep their own children's minds and imaginations healthy.

I will be 32 in less than 2 months. I watched this film non-stop as a kid. I remember asking my mom to put in in our "rewinder" and saying "again mom, again". This would happen multiple times a day. No tears were ever drawn as a kid. Now I hear the 1st few notes of this score and its a waterfall. My favourite movie as a kid, followed closely by Charlotte's Web. Both tear-jerkers now that I have trouble bringing myself to watch because of the amount of tears they force out of me. I feel sadness at the end of films like Braveheart, Gladiator and 300. Testosterone-fueled epics where our hero dies. But Land Before Time, a "child's film", reaches deeper down and touches something primal. Its power is on a much higher level. I am not ashamed to admit that this film (and score) effect me in a very profound way. I hope one day I can share this with kids of my own.

This brings back memories. It's like I'm eight years old again. It's the early 90s, we're on summer holidays and my sister (age six) would have just had an argument about who gets control over the TV remote. We would have compromised and decided to put on a movie that we both enjoy. So we pop up it in the VHS player and watch Land Before Time for the upteenth time - at this point, both of us can probably quote most of the movie verbatim. I'm now 37 and have a career as an archaeologist (not a paleontologist, but that would have been fitting for this comment!). My sister is 35, working as a nurse, and is married with a daughter on the way, who, I hope, will have a chance to see this movie at some point in the next few years. Time flies. On another note, I was just listening to some Dvorak and heard a few familiar musical phrases. Easy to see where Horner might have gotten some of his inspiration (it was one of the Slavonic Dances that set off my memory).

This entire soundtrack was just phenomenal. It was better than it had any right to be. Arguably James Horner’s masterpiece. Teamed up with Don Bluth it was a match made in heaven. The sequence where Little Foots mother fights off the T-Rex is so powerful. You can really tell that the thematic elements of the story really inspired James Horner. Learning how to cope with the loss of a mother is the heart of the story. It’s helped many kids who’ve had to go on that journey.

This sad, emotional and beautiful movie learned me something very important in my life: even if we are all different, even if we live in a world where racism, prejudice, violence, injustice and horrors exist, we must put aside prejudice and learn to move forward together and show solidarity for everyone. Because in the end, the great cycle of life will end for all of us and we should evolve to be able to live together in the Great Valley. Utopia unfortunately cannot exist, but to travel our long years while having done the possible for a better world should be the motor of each one. That’s what this film taught me about life from an early age.

Ooohhh.... My childhood. It was long, long ago. I cry every time. I feel nostalgia, but at the same time, i feel pain 😭 I wish i could go back in time and be happy again. And at this moment, i am 6 years old again❤

My dad brought this one home when I was 7 I think. Was mazing, but scary for 7 yer old me. I still love this film decades later.

Hearing this song again after 20 years literally made the space between my temples feel like they were going to explode with nostalgia and joy. I literally have tears in my eyes. It's amazing feeling an emotion you haven't felt since you were 6 years old.

I hope to have this for my kids...and the sequels...at least not a couple of them, especially in the last years when they started giving up.
