I got a CR-10 S4 and the Anet E10. The build quality is definitely on different playing fields, but so is the cost of them. If you want a medium sized

some info to help you. THis is not a repalcement for the CR10 but more a competition for the Wanhao Maker Selec I3's while trying to ride the CR10 train. for your z steppers. yes. nasty design flaw. but its caused because your H carriage is BENT (look at it from the side) its easy to bend back but either way those steppers SHOULD be facing backwards as you changed them. much better that way. your limit switch snapped because the post hits the BOLT. you need to bend the pin first before plugging it in (again this needs to be fixed at the factory) but is easy to work around. turn on the printer navigate to configuration. lower acceleration to one half and jerk to one half of stock values. be sure to save the values (store memory I believe) that will dramatically improve print quality and noise in the print. the printer is crazy quiet but as typical with chinese printers the fans are rubbish. replace them. enjoy silence. your print head carriage is wacked. definitely need to tighten that. mine was fine so I guess there is some QC issues at the factory they need to work on. my parts cooling fan is actually pretty darned good. so likely another QC issue IE you got a bum fan. the only printed parts are non load bearing (linear rod hold downs) ALL critical parts are metal. I am ok with non load bearing parts being printed. they are not under load so its fine. just rip all the green stuff off. printer looks better without it anyway. I also don't like how "rough" the y axis is when moving. I am going to look into smoothing that out. the belts really don't need to be THAT tight. tightening it up by hand is easy and painless. don't over tighten. ALL of your print noise at this point is coming from that flapping x carriage. great video. keep up the good work. you sound good on video too.

You really ought to have more subs. Nicely done mate. I bought the A8 for $177 with free shpg, (not arrived yet :-). I think I know what I am in for. It wouldn't be as fun without trying to print your way out of the device's insufficiency. But it would be nice to get right to work. In the end I suppose one has better trouble shooting skills for what thats worth. Now it is all up to me. Regards

I agree, the Creality CR-10 is like £500, this E10 is about $250 and the A8 is around $180, they're not really comparable in this way. I'm pretty happy with my A8, it's fun to get a foot in so cheap and then build up from there. MOSFET is arriving today...

It is built to to look like the cr10 because the cr10 is so popular so it is built to sell even if it barely works

The frame is much better. The X-carriage and the extruder head are worse.

@@OpenTechLab What if one had a new x-carriage machined? It could be made to hold 4 bearings.....
