On Monday morning, Whatcom County, WA woke up to a lot of snow around the area. Some cities received upwards of 10" of snow under heavy convergence zone bands. Coupled with strong NE outflow winds from the Fraser Canyon in British Columbia, it made for hazardous driving with blowing snow and drifts.
All of these video clips were taken in Whatcom County, WA which sits in the northwest corner of the United States. Whatcom County is home to 5 U.S./Canadian border crossings and home to Bellingham, WA, the county seat. Whatcom County in the winter is known for blizzard-like conditions despite the proximity to the Pacific Ocean.
This video shows scenes around Whatcom County including Lynden, Ferndale, and the rural county. Whatcom County is 90 miles north of Seattle and south of Vancouver, British Columbia about 60 miles.
