02 Mercedes S500 trunk will not open

Just a do it yourself video and how I fixed my trunk not opening you don't always have to run to the dealer

Great fix! What Ill be doing this week is using high strength JB Weld Epoxy around the middle portion followed by a zip in each direction (crossing). Cant wait to visit Nassau again.

I have the same issue, but mines lock mechanism open but it won't go up by itself. Did this fix the problem?

Hi did the zip tie temporarily get your trunk functioning like normal?

it's still working to this day, it's looking more like a permanent fix lol

that would have to be some strong glue, the amount of of money for those cars they could of made that better, i sold the car shortly after that video and the zip ties are still working perfectly today
