I misunderstood this scene in a way that I think was very interesting. I'd thought that the appearance of the room is different for everyone. *_Kris_* - Kris decides to confront themselves. They feel like they're suffocating within the joined pain that humanity has felt for thousands of years, a pain that really emerged when their brother had left. The well calls to Kris; they feel as if at any second, they're moments from falling in. *_Ralsei_* - Ralsei feels endangered when forced to confront himself. His room features some sort of "Velvet rope" that by the law of rules should not be passable, and even being close enough to try passing across it into uncharted territory could spell unthinkable harm for him. Because Ralsei feels as if he's purposed to follow this world's narrative, being near the rope is pure dread for him. *_Susie_* - Susie can't see the string of the world she's in, and thus isn't as susceptible to this room. Susie thought that she and Kris never even entered the room and were confused by Ralsei's concern, thus her reaction at 1:38.

I think that theory falls apart when Toby says that your undertale file is completely unchanged by deltarune, how you left that world is still how it is. Some people never played genocide, they only did pacifist, so how could that still apply? There can’t be a canon undertale ending to deltarune because of this.
