Peter Martins got overwhelming acclaim as a danseur, but as a choreographer he has got heaping scorn. He has said himself he is not considered a choreographer. Critics liked him “Calcium Light Night”, but virtually everything else he has composed has gotten mixed to negative reviews. People hate the fact that he took the throne at NYCB and the school. But Balanchine personally asked him to take over. What should he have done? He wanted to be a choreographer. He wanted to run the company he left his home country for. What better head was there for NYCB and SAB? But you know something… he also helped put this workout together. So ordinary everyday people can train the way professional ballet dancers train. This is his best composure. He should be remembered as a “Ballet Master” just for this alone. Thanks, Pete. And for giving this to us free of charge, thank you… Calentamiento Dos… and Merde…
