This is good to know! Is there a store you recommend for kilts? I'd love to know, cause they look very comfy and stuff (plus one branch of my family is from Scotland a few generations back, like many people in Canada/US).

Glaswegian here! Totally fine to wear Kilts as long as you're respectful and don't call them skirts 👍🏻We love seeing folk embracing our culture as long as it's not making fun of it. For the pronunciation of Glasgow, it's handy to think of it being Glazgo. A lot of Americans pronounce it like Glassgo but go with the Z sound. I'm still gutted that I couldn't get tickets for the show! If there's an available venue, you'd definitely sell out another night!

If you're wearing socks to warm your feet (when you're just being comfy in your house, not when you're walking around in shoes), then wearing your socks at half-mast *is* the same as rolling your sweatshirt sleeves up. Why do you roll your sweatshirt sleeves up? Because you still want the warmth of the sweatshirt but not the full warmth of it. You're finding a middle ground that adjusts the temperature effect of the garment to a place that's in between having a full sweatshirt on and having short sleeves. As a fellow half-sockie, I can say that I will sometimes wear my socks at half-mast when I'm gettin' comfy at home or, on the rare occasions that I wear socks to bed, to regulate temperature when I still want something warm on my feet but not as warm as full socks (or, like, when my toes are particularly cold but the rest of me is a little too warm for socks). Ryan got caught up on the idea of the function of socks being ONLY as shoe underwear but a lot of people just wear socks while walking around their house too, so they have two functions: (1) shoe underwear, and (2) foot warmers. If you're using them for function #2, then there's no difference between rolling your sleeves up and rolling your socks down. Also, I'll do Shane one better: I not only sometimes wear my socks at half-mast, but if I'm wearing long socks and feeling particularly saucy, I might let the toes of the socks fly free and flop around like big wind socks. I started doing it as a kid and my dad HATED it, which, of course, just made me love it all the more. And, although I don't do it often, I still sometimes enjoy kickin' it at home with big, floppy socks sitting at half-mast. Sure, we live in a society, but if you can't let your freaky feet flags fly when you're chillin' at home, then what are we even doin', man? Freedom isn't free, but you know what is free? My heels, baby, when I'm wearing my socks at half-mast.

Wasn't expecting Shane to know of let alone mention Dashcon! Kind of funny that it happened to be near where he used to live. For those unawares, they did have more stuff than just a ballpit in an empty convention hall, but yeah the place was really sparse. The main issue that it all boiled down to was that it was run mostly by people who had no experience in running a convention. Was there intention to scam people? Debatably, but definitely not by all of the staff.
