It was a really important lesson to apply color to the object sprayed by the shape splatter node. This is a great lecture video that is very helpful.

I enjoy that with the pick gradient tool I can steal colors from this video.

just for anyone who is having issues with the shape splatter blend color node. I fixed it by blending the output of the final shape splatter blend color node with the original base color node. Set the blend mode to screen and play with the opacity.

Been following along, for some reason my Shape Splatter nodes for the small and large pebbles don't have a (Splatter Data 2) spot, they just have Splatter Data 1 plug in. It's still working regardless but I was just curious if there's a reason why that's happened, I may have missed a step. Also the Shape Splatter Blend Color is the same, it doesn't have a Splatter Data 2 plug in, just the one

Congratz! These videos are awesome. They are helping me a lot to understand the software, however, I am having some problems when adding the shape splatter blend color node. When added to the graph and connect the blend node with the ground color information, the shape splatter node becomes red. I can change the color of the pebbles but the ground color changes to red. Do you or somwone know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks! So glad you liked the videos. I'm sorry but I'm not sure what could be causing that issue. Can you post in our designer support thread with some screen shots? forum.allegorithmic.com/index.php/board,10.0.html

Hi, i want to ask what is the difference between splatter data one and splatter dada two?

Hey I know I'm a year late but I'm just gonna try to explain for the people who read this comment in the future. I'm not 100% sure since Adobe's documentation doesn't really explain what those outputs do but from what I can tell Splatter Data 1 has to do with the position of the scattered objects: if you preview the output by double clicking it you can see that the objects on the very left and the top row have a special color (easier to see if you set the random position to 0). The other objects APPEAR white but when you plug the Splatter Data 1 Output into a Levels Node, preview it and play around with the values you can see that all of them are colored based on their position. Splatter Data 2 has to do with the UVs/Mapping of the scattered objects: because the objects vary in size and have a random rotation Designer needs a way to correctly map the textures onto them. Since we just use the grayscale values and not actual textures/patterns we TECHNICALLY don't need this output to texture our pebbles (or at least they didn't look different when I disconnected it) BUT it is essential for when you want to scatter objects that use set textures/patterns. edit: I wrote that we technically don't need to use the Splatter Data 2 for our pebbles but we definitely DO need it for the twigs (in the next video).

When I fill the gradient into pattern 1 it fills all the pebbles at once. I can't figure out why.
@Substance3D4 жыл бұрын
Which part in the video are you referring to? I will take a look.
@SezzesStuff4 жыл бұрын
@@Substance3D He probably meant in the splatter blend color node. You need to manually pick the right pattern number in the instance parameters, at first it's one, so the node thinks there's only one type of pattern and fills them all the same color, by adding multiple it made them black like in the video, where is started off with the right amount of patterns in the instance parameters.

i have designer 2019 and there isn't the shape splatter blend color......help pls...
@esscee965 жыл бұрын
I'm using 2019 and it is present. Be sure you don't have an incompatible node selected while bringing up the space/tab search since it then contextually searches based on the node you have selected. As a rule, I guess whenever you do wanna add a new node just click over any empty space in the graph first.
