Tip use hair dryer to heat up those plastic tabs for a couple minutes and they come off very easily undamaged. Great video thank you. Who would’ve guessed?

GOod video this helped. The aftermarket clips on the china ones wouldnt stay for me. I finally got a bottle of glue and glued each clip area.

Good video! Helped me a lot. I had to twist adjustment rod outward so it would seat better. I fought with it until I figured that out. Video was very helpful though, thanks!

Haha yes they were. They were made with a healthy protein powder that unfortunately got discontinued but I make other recipes like that

I’m thinking of making a part 2 video to replace my other very pitted fog light, considering I bought two and one looks new and the other is very worn out looking. Any suggestions to what a part 2 should be like? I was thinking of showing some better detail on that piece that protrudes through the back, some close ups and better detail. I think I shot this on an iPhone 8 lol so perhaps a better camera is in store. I also have a good desktop microphone for better voice over as well. Anyways let me know in the comments if I can make a better part 2. Thanks.

Just 100% perfect! Saved me $140 and it's good as new. Quick question: Why did you pinch that back bit with needle nose pliers?

Because the fog light will not come out until you pinch that end. It protrudes through the bumper housing and helps guide and lock it in. It’s got these plastic barbs on it that help it stay in there

That comment was 100% uncalled for. At least he recorded and uploaded this video that has helped a great many Matrix and Vibe owners. From yet another Matrix owner faced with this task,, THANK You MichaelPhelps! By the by,, we bought our 2006 AWD Matrix brand new in McMinnville, Ore. We live a bit south of Seattle and have enjoyed this little car for 131,000 virtually trouble free miles. We've been religious about it's maintenance and this busted fog light housing is the first issue I've had to do. I raised the front, set it down on jack stands and removed the front tires to give me better access to those inner wheel wells and fog light housing. As you say it really isn't necessary but it sure did help give me the space I need. Thanks again!

These lights seem to be prone to breaking. The fog lights were broken when I bought the car used. The fog lights were replaced and a month later they were both broken again.

​@@therealmichaelphelps I just replaced the lights and your video helped get me in the right direction. It didn't even take that long. The part that took the most time was removing and replacing the wheel well liner, which is all torn up on this car so I had to tape it back.

@@alanhowitzer if you ever can, try and find that flex seal branded tape, the super wide rubber tape stuff, that stuff works pretty good especially if your inner line has huge gaping holes in it, mine was like that too

Don't use hot glue on anything on any car, unless you never drive in a climate that ever gets hot.

in this specific situation hot glue or even a tiny bit of masking tap wont be an issue, considering its friction held in with those clips, hot glue would only make it easier to install without them falling off. But thanks though
