On the afternoon of March 31st 2023, a cyclic tornadic supercell produced a tornado that tracked into Coralville, Iowa, a suburb just east of Iowa city, Iowa.

Minor correction: Coralville is just west of Iowa City, not east, and is at the junction of I-80 and I-380.

I live in Iowa this was terrifying in person I hid in a hyvee in the dairy freezer after a long time we were safe then we thought it came back but it hit coralville

I work at Hyvee in CedarFalls and when the air raid sirens went off, that's where we went too. Glad you were safe!

I work at Hyvee and also spent a couple of hours in the cooler. The tornado touched down across the street from my store. It's pretty wild how close it was, but we only lost power.

I live in Coralville, and I think it swiped near the Mall. Currently, still no power. Was terrifying cuz my apartment complex keeps the shelter (laundry area) locked. :(

That is genuinely illegal. They are required to have an open access shelter in place that has the capacity for all the residents. I highly advise you to report the situation. You deserve a safe place to go in the event of a tornado.

My daughter hid in her bathroom with her macbook not even 30 seconds before her entire house cracked in half. she is okay but Im not okay!I live about 18 hours away and haven't been close enough to her in the last few years. needless to say I am in the process of connecting with her. God willing

Man Waterloo was fine but the sirens went off for like 5 minutes. There wasn’t any hail but the winds were strong. Also i was in the eye of the storm and it wasnt raining in the eye but as soon at we left the eye and went in those dark clouds rain just poured. My house is ok and nothing was damaged.
