03 Cummins 6 speed manual Twin Turbo Compound 55-90mph 35" tires

This is my 03 Cummins 6 speed doing a highway 55-90mph pull in 5th gear. The truck has an MPI twin kit. Its a S300 62/65/14 over a stock S475. 75% over Motorsport Diesel injectors, Motorsport diesel stroker 10.6 Cp3, FASS 150 titanium, ARP studs, 103# hamilton springs, pusher elbow, Valair Dual Disc.. Oh and then custom UDC tuning by coffman customs through a smarty s06 POD. Oh and this is on 35" Nitto trail grapplers

What setting was you runing on that s06 pod?

How's those 75% overs while towing? Almost exact setup I'm going with, just can't decide on injector size. Have 50% overs now.

anthony lisby hey man it honestly tows great. I dont do full throttle when towing though. I live in florida and its hot a humid here. Normal Driving while towing gets me about 1-1100 temps while pulling heavy up to speed but then it settles at 800-900 degrees. Empty it cruises at 700-800 degrees. The only negative i think is its smokey if you use too much throttle below about 1500 rpm. After that its clean.

awesome man, thanks for the info. I live in Idaho and travel all over the North West for work so I need a set up that will tow (8-9k lbs) decent. I have a 63/65/14 now. I don't want it to crazy powerful. I've already blew 6th out once. i doubt it was from power tho. thanks again for the info

anthony lisby makes me wonder though man, if there is nothing wrong with your 50% injectors i would change the turbos out first for the twins and get it tuned. See how it acts. Theres no reason why it should run bad. 75% injectors with my twin setup i was told was the best for power but still tows good. Like i said i have to watch it down low though or its smokey. It is a little touchy in 2nd and 3rd too. It just wants to GO. So again, since injectors aren't cheap, i would change out the turbos first and tune it and see. Good luck with her!

Have you had any problems out of the nv5600 holding the power? what HP are you making?

Hey man its been over a year now and everything still seems fine. The tranny whines a bit when going into 3rd and 4th some... but the truck does have 184k on it... I might try changing the fluid and see if that helps. Right now it has Amsoil in it and I was thinking of switching to the Pennzoil synchromesh stuff that I've heard people using. Overall the twins have been great!

Factory 3.73s... The video was taken when it was on 35" nitto trail grapplers. I went down to an almost factory 285 that is about 32" high now. Less stress on the tranny and other running gear that way

ok. Ya I got the same tires on 20s but truck came with 3.42 gears so its prob more like a 3.21 gearing rite now. Im gonna be putting in compounds, either the pusher high mount or the hardway perf kit, its a 2015 truck. Thinking of putting in the gears you have in order to get the turbos to light quicker I think. Noticeable diff of when they lite with the smaller tires?

It's still called twins bub. Compound twins and sequential twins are still called twin turbo.

@@jeremymitchell2513 Compounds are erroneously referred to as twins. Twins means both turbos are the same. Compounds are obviously not the same, so referring to them as such is incorrect.

@@jeremymitchell2513 "sequential twins". Nice oxymoron. Sequential bi-turbos (note: bi = two; not twin) are called such because they spool sequentially... because one is smaller than the other.

Isn't 1550 too hot for stock internals? Always heard to stay or below 1250 ? I'm asking 🙃

Temp is mainly hard on valves and turbo. You're usually good for 2-3 seconds around 1600+ but hold it there too long and things will melt for sure. I've got a 12v that I peg my 1600 guage all the time and nothing has melted yet haha

Its not too hot for a couple seconds here and there. The 1250 degree rule is only for pulling long grades and not the last 3 seconds of a quarter mile pass or last 50 feet of a pull.
