Күн бұрын

Just before 3 am an 18-wheeler loaded with steel was traveling north on I-45. As he passed Shepard Hill Road his truck felt as if he had a flat tire. The driver pulled to the side and as he got out and started to walk back to the rear of the truck he saw flashing lights and then a vehicle embedded in the rear of his trailer. He immediately called 911. Willis Police, MCSO, and NMC Fire responded to the scene. They found the driver to be deceased. The Uber driver was returning to his Huntsville area home after dropping a fare from the rodeo in Conroe. It is unknown what the cause of the collision was. DPS investigated the crash. I 45 was closed until 8 am as the crash was investigated. The debris field from the initial impact was almost one-half mile. Montgomery County Precinct 1 Justice of the piece Wayne Mack responded to the scene and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.

@arturshemshur3030, Doing so would add more weight to the trailer therefore shippers couldn't load as much product and they'd have to make more shipments. The maximum legal weight of a tractor-trailer is 80,000 pounds and that includes the tractor, fuel, trailer, load and driver(s).

@@arturshemshur3030 why would you put a "apron" on the truck? Trailers already have a mainson bar on the back to prevent this. If the truck had one, you couldn't hook a trailer up. It appears that the Uber driver was driving extremely fast. The bar broke, understandably, when he hit it going so fast. The US has required these bars on trailers for over 50 years but, you can't stop something that fast. It appears that driver was going way to fast and struck guard rail and lost control and the speed kept him going.

Stay off your phones if you're driving. Just the other day I saw one girl slow down and come to a stop a hundred yards before the stop sign, she was on her phone. When she looked up she realized what she did and then quickly took off. She caught up to me at the stop sign and when I looked over she was on her phone again. I see it all the time. People driving ten or fifteen miles under the speed limit, can't stay in their own lane and when you look over at them they've got their face in their phone. Last month the guy behind me ran the red light and passes me up. At the next red light he's sitting there with is phone on the dash and watching a movie. The dude was watching a movie while driving. People like that should have their driving privileges suspended.

It doesn't say that's why but I'm pretty sure thats what it must have felt like to him) I mean he knew something wasn't right so he pulls over to go look but what he saw was a car stuck under his truck. @1929modelagirl you keep replying that the truck was stopped on the shoulder and then hit. If you will pay attention to the description, it clearly states the truck was “traveling”. Truck driver felt he had a flat tire and then pulled onto the shoulder to find this car embedded is his trailer. Also if you pay close attention to the video, the point of impact was further back in the travel lane, as stated in the description, nearly half a mile back. You can see the damage to the road and the initial impact debris. Uber hit the truck while it was going down the hwy. 3am? Wonder if the person fell asleep. 😢

@@earlwright9715 ...Why is the extermination of the indigenous population of America considered a crime, but the extermination of Palestinians is not. Double standards. Look at the data from 1948 to see how much Palestinian territory there was and now. These lands were captured by the Zionists and not the Jews. The Jews who lived there lived amicably with the Arabs. The Zionists began to exterminate the Arabs and dragged the Jews into it. Arabs and Jews are one people - Semites. The UN and the whole world consider Zionism to be fascists. And now the Zionists are dragging the whole world into war... ... the Zionists did the same thing: Gleiwitz - Hitler’s provocation against Poland On the evening of August 31, 1939, on Hitler's orders, a group of Nazi SD security officers simulated a Polish takeover of a German radio station in the small German town of Gleiwitz, near the Polish border. After the “seizure of the radio station,” one of the participants in the provocation read out a false message on the radio in Polish that the Polish army had crossed the German border and captured a German radio station. After firing several shots at the microphone, the provocateurs left the radio station building. The SD service prepared in advance thirteen German prisoners sentenced to death. They were dressed in Polish military uniforms and by the evening of August 31 they were rendered unconscious. After simulating the Polish takeover of the radio station, all these suicide bombers were shot not far from its building. In his speech to the Reichstag on September 1, 1939, explaining the motives for Germany's attack on Poland, Hitler, among other things, referred to the incident in Gleiwitz. Back on August 22, speaking to the top of the Wehrmacht, he stated: “The destruction of Poland is the main task... I will give a propaganda reason for starting the war - it does not matter whether it is plausible. No one will ever ask the winner if he told the truth. At the beginning and during the course of a war, it is not the right that matters, but victory.” The provocation in Gleiwitz is a vivid example of Hitler’s criminal methods of unleashing the Second World War.

Must have been passing on the right, fell a sleep or was texting. Years back I was stopped at a light that had two left turns lanes on my left, I was in one of two straight through lanes in the center and a right turn lane on my right. A teenage girl who was texting come past me at around 50 mph and never looked up. She was hit in the drivers door by a 3/4 ton GMC truck with a snow blade doing 40 to 50 mph. It flipped her car and spun it around sending it up into a gas station hitting two pumps. I pulled into a parking lot facing the gas station with my dash can running. They life lined her to the hospital by chopper, never found out what happened to her. Stay off your phone people.

I,m of age now but my Dad drove truck in the 50s and thru the mid 70s and one story I will never forget. There were a lot of Cab over tractors back then. Dad he drove a car carrier with 10 cars I think ? Any how, on the upper deck of the trailer the end car,and they were mostly all big cars back then.Well the top deck last car always hung over about 3 feet .Well the story goes Dad and another Car Carrier driver were heading up the Grapevine out of Los Angeles with a load of new cars headed to Salt Lake City .As they were mid point in the steepest part of the grade over the pass, the trucks would get way down on speed. Trucks were pretty low powered back then so maybe 15/20 mph pushing it ,Well a Cab over must have got a good run more power and lighter load because he came up so fast on the car carriers that he rear ended the trailer and the rear car trunk tail came right thru the windshield and killed him instantly. same deal to fast on a slow moving truck.

I don't see a Mansfield Bar on the truck 😢 The Mansfield Bar was enacted or mandated in 1968, even though the fatal accident that put the Bar into law happened in 1967. All trucks were required to have the Mansfield Bar and it took quite awhile until all truck's had them. Actress Jane Mansfield (mother of SVU actress Mariska Hargitay), her boyfriend Sam Brody, and the driver of the 1966 Buick Electra Ronnie Harrison were killed instantly when the car slid under the truck at a high rate of speed shearing off the roof like a accordion. The Mansfield Bar is suppose to prevent a car going under the back end of the truck. In later year's business truck's have also put a metal piece in the center each of their truck's to prevent small car's and motorcycles from becoming trapped in the middle. Rest in Peace to The Uber Driver 🕊️
