Beavers are good at allowing rivers to meander, subsequent waterlogged and decaying detritus proliferates insect life which is especially important to young salmon and trout. Beaver dams are totally different to concrete dams. Rivers need a mix of eco systems to thrive. This work is wonderful.

Scotland as a proud Salmon country should be aiming to remove as many dams as possible unless they're absolutely necessary

Fantastic transformation. Wish that they had been able to remove the whole dam, its such an eyesore. Small beginnings though. 😊

European beavers are gone, in some areas they are bringing in Canadian beaver …

I did not know canada had it own beavers must be different than north american beavers
