my partner and I are a couple from eastern Canada who did the same jump around the same time! We bought a cottage that had been abandoned for years. 2 containers to empty the house, a 3rd soon, we also did the plastering and yard work. We're 5 months in! I'm really impressed by your roofing skills! putting a new roof is not easy. I love your videos!

Wow, thank you so much!! I guess we're in a similar situation! I think both of us still have a lot of work to do, but let's work hard and enjoy...😁😁
I know it’s hard work I’ve been working on this house alone for 25 years. Seems like a long time but I raised a child during that time also. I’m sorry to hear that you’re getting rid of the barns I would love to have them. I’d love to have those tiles that were on the roof too. Although I never sell things online I do buy things there and I noticed that you probably threw away about $10,000 US. I understand how it is though just trying to get up the hump to where you can see the other side of what it will be. Good luck, and take your time on redoing your old well because it’s probably very important to the property. What you’ve done looks really awesome!!!

Thank you for your comment re jn ! we did not have that kind of ideas in this time :( If we have next chance , we will try to sell or give things to others ! :)
The lamp shade that threw away is very special, it can be sold on eBay :) Cat will come to nice people 🐈

Wonderful progress. You two are working so hard together. It must be challenging but satisfying. How many square meters is your home. It looks large. Here in Chicago we bought and renovated two adjacent buildings in 2018 and it took so long for us and we hired contractors to do the work. 18 months. Everything was gutted and then re-installed. Looking forward to seeing your project evolve.

Thank you so much!! The house is about 147 square meters, and the land, is about 730 square meters😊😊 Wow, 18months even for the professional contractors...😳

Wow. The previous owners left all their stuff in the house and left? Reminds me to get rid of a lot of junk in my house when I get older. I live in a five bedroom house by myself these days. I have also been renovating my house DIY style.

@@CnSee02 Thank you so much! That's very encouraging...!!😊
Just a curious question…..why didn’t you think of selling the tiles that were in good shape for the roof to people to use for classic roof tiles? Since they are of another era, it would (to me) to be a extension of history. I do like the roof you used though. Just asking. Peace 💫
@JapanCountryLife_ALINCO3 жыл бұрын
There might be a way to do that...! However, there're many old vacant houses in Japan, and I'm not sure if there're any places that will buy the old tiles since they are not valuable. But I agree with your opinion😳😳

Yeah, it's really cute... At the present time, we're away from home most of the time, so feel bad about keeping it, but we just feed it when it come around☺️

@@JapanCountryLife_ALINCO I hope that the cat finds a loving forever family and home soon. Thanks for taking care of it.
I like houses so I always watch vidros of tiny house or designer house. When I see people who themselves build their own home that too in breif time I wonder how come these people know everything that plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mason and Lmost everything and we being poor that too in develooing country depend on carpenter, electrician, plumber even for small and tinyest repair work. Ant sometimes think that I have to take up such tiny house building task on but here in India we can't build wooden house.
@JapanCountryLife_ALINCO3 жыл бұрын
Wow, I didn't know that!! The reason we're trying DIY is mostly because it's fun, but there is the other reason actually. Japanese rural areas, where the young population continues to decline, the value of houses is decreasing rapidly, and in a few decades, old houses like ours are not going to sell even for free! Hiring contractors to do the work would be a waste of money, not an investment in this house, so we're doing as much DIY work ourselves as possible😊😊
