I suspect the default behaviour is because an orchestral full score is likely to use the simplest notation, to avoid clutter, whereas the player parts might use less minimal forms in order to assist reading/playing.

I think so indeed, some details are only meant for the musicians to know or vice versa.

New user and subscriber. I have imported a score (and parts) from a Finale creation. I can add a text note to a part. How do I get that note in the score so it will propagate to all parts at the same time without entering individually? I have Dorico 5. I found the global command as you suggested in your first method at around the 9:00 mark. I did not follow the second method at the 9:10 mark because it was not shown where to access the properties section. Thanks for your assistance. I am getting a good start in Dorico thanks to your videos.
