+Blake Boyd The quote is probably apocryphal. However, Glass Harp were actually recording their debut in Electric Ladyland in the run up to Hendrix's death, so it is almost certain that Hendrix knew his playing pretty well.

newt0830 You know that they kept that only as a moniker. There are several interviews where they say that by 1965, each would write a song, and they’d just say “Lennon McCartney”, but clearly some songs were written by one or the other. For instance, “In my Life” is a Lennon McCartney song, yet its widely known John wrote pretty much the whole song. Whereas “Hey Jude” is also Lennon McCartney credited, but it’s clearly written by Paul. The only part of “A Day in the Life” that Paul wrote was the bridge, “I woke up fell out of bed, etc.” The song was mostly written by Lennon.
