@TNTOmnibus You need to look at aU.S. patent 11,719,220 B2 August 8, 2023. It is a wind turbine with tubercles! Looks like you're not the only one to think of this...Way to go! Your ideas were published before this patent was granted. I think that means your design counts as "prior art" so you could actually challenge the patent! Not that it would be worth the effort, but it does protect you from the patent holder taking you to court over your ideas. I love how you put these ideas out for us all to enjoy and experiment with. Thanks!

4:18 its not a precise test, but it seems conclusive; it wasn't just acceleration & top speed; that increase of efficiency showed up in Reactivity. Tge tulicule rotor took less to get started & moved further on the motion.

Thanks Robert for taking the time to design, build, test and share this interesting idea. Glad it demonstrated what the researchers claimed 👍 As you well known it’s not always the case, lol

Have to give it to nature, it has had a long time to figure out what works. Love nature inspired designs! Great videos lately Rob! Keep up the good work!

that s why you cant beat its efficiency either... and what else could inspire?! and where does it all come form?

It is more efficient turning the propeller in a fluid. Is it more efficient with lift or transferring power ??🤔

Can you share with us the 3D model or the design of the model of the tubercle wind turbine

Are the tubercles when added to the blades adding to the total surface area? What if they were cut into the blade, that would be an interesting comparison having slightly less overall area.

Have you thought about added some weight to the end to have a bit of a flywheel effect?

We do our clay in a kid pool, window screen and an old blanket. We are able to fire small pottery mixed in the coals of the grill when we bbq and it fires well.

i wonder if adding something similar will help overcome the difficulty of startup for VAWTs.

sycamore seed shape is for maximum lift but also for gentlest flight, and for germ to land intact. whale front fins are mostly for manouvering, with almost all thrust from tail fin..in a fluid more viscous than air. we can get clues about efficiency from nature but, may not line up perfectly with efficiencies we want in a rotor.

I wonder if the tubercles would work on a ugrinshi turbine, as the fins are in a trailing, not cutting, arrangement..

Well... While I ACTUALLY DO want to make hours of animations, I am rightly impressed that this app will work for some rudimentary models for storyboarding, as well as helping me make some practical engine parts.

Using similar shaping on my hand made surfboard fins, they are easily faster than the "regular" product, the 15-20% diagram you showed makes sense to what I experience riding them. I assumed it is some sort of venturi affect aiding the water in entering and exiting the surface area more efficiently.

You never fail to surpass yourself Rob! I am considering building a 1m tall Ugrinsky Wind Wall and I am hoping Santa has received my request for a 3d printer for Xmas! I have seen your reports on just about everything on wind energy but would like to know if you think Tubercles would benefit the type of wind generator I am considering? Merry Xmas to you and all your followers!

Hello RMS, what do you think about tubercles on the leading edge and golf ball dimples on the trailing edge ? Even better efficiency ? Mabey the low spots between the tubercles are the dimples !

Domestic Nuclear Battery - OK :-) I have no idea if this is already done on a workable scale. My invention is:- Based on the Principal of a Diamond Battery. Scale the whole concept up to a Domestic Energy source. The fuel would be spent nuclear reactor fuel which is presently put in containers in massive water ponds. Take a reasonable piece of that decaying fuel. Encase it in a Glass Substrate and encase that in a small energy conversion box. The heat/energy from the Radio Active decay can be used to charge batteries to run a house. The whole thing could be suitably shielded in underground chambers. When the energy generation drops off after a couple of years, the Glass Capsule would be replaced. What do you think of this ?

I was lucky enough to find Blender years ago long before home 3d printers were ever realized. That being said, it is a huge pain to use if precision is your aim.

Are whales, of all the swimming creatures, the only ones using tubercles? I wonder then if tubercles are only useful for swimming creatures of a certain (very large) size? Somewhat akin to the issue of small-scale aircraft models of full-size aircraft behaving differently - air molecules not scaling down, Reynolds numbers, that sort of thing.

Thank you Sir, a very interesting find and application, of God Jehovahs' design on certain animals, the Whale, Owl for example shows us that yes, working in both air, and water, there we're more effective, and efficient methods of manipulating these variable fields around them, us. May God bless please, in Lord Jesus is the Christs' name forever? Yay Yay or Nay Nay

Wow thats so cool, its like organic design. Yeah blender is steep, i started the glazed donut tutorial on youtube and sure enough you can make a convincing 3d donut in a few youtube videos, but you dont remember any of the shortcuts you used , thats seems to be the skill, remembering where everything is to do the things you want. Then Ii asked AI to draw me a 3d glazed donut with sprinkles and it came out 100x bettter then mine. Im using a variation as my avatar. You dont have the same customization if you learn to do you yourself however, once you learn that then you can really get creative rather then just relying on AI to make something cool. But as a non artist, ill take the AI shortcut. Maybe there will be something for CAD soon. just verbally type what you want done to a model and it does it. Stil not as good as being able to carve it out smoothly yourself, thats where we need VR Cad tools, they find even non gamers do well in VR games because 3d is so intuative to operate in. Id imagine it would help with CAD creation too. Being able to work with your hands digitially.

But if one just learns maths and use geogebra it’s much easier than blender I learned how to program the shapes in less than six months but the best thing with geogebra you actually don’t even need to learn the maths you just select your shapes and put them together it’s simple.
