@ryandentith7527 Жыл бұрын
@@SuperMrfranco hello, yes the 0411 pcm comes out of pickups with 5.3 engines and then your local engine tuner with the hptuners program will be able to set the pcm to run your 5.7 just by handing them the pcm by itself before installing to your truck. The map they’ll load on to it will be an older safari van or express van tune because in like early 2000’s those vans came equipped with a 5.7 AND the 0411. So any 0411 pcm will work (5.3, 4.8, 5.7, doesn’t matter just needs to be an 0411) with help from your local tuner. Check customconnectorkits.com for the 80 pin connectors you’ll need the red+blue style.

What do you think? Is this something I can take my truck to you to help me get this done? My motorhome has a TBI 454. Literally zero difference in power or acceleration between about 2/3 throttle and full throttle. The engine just gets louder. Oh and the airflow to the radiator sucks, so it runs hot, which causes it to pull timing, which make it run hotter, and a cycle of insanity ensues. I wonder if the later 454s were better and simple things like oh I don’t know... developing usable cylinder pressure?
@scottm73413 жыл бұрын
I'm building a 98 454 right now. The gen 6 7.4/454 of 96-2000 is probably the best 454 they ever made. The heads go back to the full size oval ports, rather than the peanut ports of the 87-95 G5. The short block is essentially the same as the G5, keeping the improvements in the cooling jacket and oiling. Compression is rated at 9.1, but I don't think it's quite that high. The pistons are .025" below the deck surface, so I had my block decked .010 to reduce that. It uses direct port fuel injection, but the stock tune is really bad. With a cam and 0411 swap, they can run really well.

When ya swapped the PCM from black box to 0411 did the key fob to open the doors still work along with the AC, and the 4x4?

Will the process be the same from this video when applied to a 1998 Chevy K1500 Suburban AWD 5.7L? Mine was made in Mexico if that matters. Definitely want to do this but want to make sure the application is the same
@LawrenceTolman2 жыл бұрын
overall the process will be almost identical

Could you do a synopsis video on what to do to update the 454 truck all the ways you recommend? There are a lot of us out here who would like to improve the performance of these trucks. I just got a K2500 suburban with a 454 for towing and would like to know what it takes to get the more our of it without spending a fortune. ECM, cam, headers, induction, etc. What is worth doing rather than just getting a newer truck?

Man thats a lot of wires to get pulled out and put in the right place. Nice job. Do you have link to the catch can on ugly truck?

Great video. I did a 411 swap how do you change the vin to match truck for emissions?

Awesome video! Question: I want to swap in a 496 from a 2002 suburban that I have into a 98 dually. I know all the engine harness would need to go with the computer. Would I just have to repin everything from the body side to make it work? Would that computer communicate properly with the BCM?

Hey LT, did you ever get the fogs working and wired in?

So when you swap from a black box to an LS all your gauges would work just the same or the truck would work just the same or do you have to modify anything for the gauges to work other than the tune??
@LawrenceTolman3 жыл бұрын
all the gauges work just like they did with the black box, no other wiring or changes needed

Se puede hacer el mismo trabajo en un 5.7 vortec? Y de ser así en donde puedo encontrar la hoja para hacer esta conversión ?

I'm making a Frankenstein of a block. Gen V block, msd dis ignition, port matching the peanut port heads to fit a gen 6 mfi intake, and then trying to find a way for everything to communicate with each other haha

Was there any wires that got left out after you swapped the pcm???

Is it safe to assume that if I want a Gen 6 454 in my GMT800 with an 0411 that it would be smartest to just swap the 454 harness and repin like you did? Or would modding the stock 5.3 harness save time/money in that situation? Do you know if the coil on plug setup of an LS can be made to work on the 454 with the 0411?
@LawrenceTolman3 жыл бұрын
if it were me and I wanted a Gen VI 454 GMT800, I'd look for an L21 454 which already has a coil near plug and 24x, or get a 24x tooth conversion from efi connection so you could run it as if it were an LS. the firing order is different so you'd need to account for that by moving a few wires around, but it should be doable... just not entirely sure of the specifics
@ClumsyCars3 жыл бұрын
@@LawrenceTolman you should be able to change the firing order in the tune

Question, I got 1999 with the same motor. There is a vacuum port right above the EGR on the plenum any idea where that runs to I got a vacuum leak and can't seem to trace where that's supposed to go
