I have to commend you on your work ethic. Never seen such a convoluted method that the former owners ran pipes through the walls! You will get there eventually keep up the amazing work. Has your dad decided yet that you were crazy to take on such a deteriorated villa? The basic bones of the villa seem fine but the systems are a total redo, electrical seems to be a gut job as well! Good luck on your project will be watching with interest the obstacles the building will throw at you next.

I'm usually a fan of the quick and dirty renovation you often see on KZbin. For some reason, I'm interested in your journey showing the ups and extended downs of reno. But the journey is longer than expected with the pipes... I imagine so for you too. I look forward to running water throughout the villa, soon. I imagine you do ad well.

I admire both of you having so much patience getting these pipes out you could do with a chisel that has a rubber end save your hands damage in such awkward spaces 😫 by the way love your logo. Ann🏴

Don't know if you can or not, but instead of leaving the pipes exposed, when you get through with replumbing, and put the pipes back where they need to be, I would inclose the pipes in the corners with a box filled with insulation. They wouldn't freeze that way. I sure would hate to see you dig out the walls to put in new plumbing. Some of it you can't help but bury, but any exposed pipes I would try it. Just a thought.😮

definitely will insulate them, thanks for sharing!!

i can't help but wonder, do you hold your breath with every pipe you cut through in hope that its not still connected to the mains water. so far you've done amazingly finding where not only the inside but the outside pipes run too. hopefully with all the pipes your collecting up you should get a good amount of scrap value back on it
@Villa_Oliva7 ай бұрын
no we've disconnected them, no worries. I have much more exciting plans with all the pipes, more in the spirit of re-/upcycling.

I have a couple of basic questions about the villa in general…First, it seems to be huge and much more space than you and your partner (and even a family) could reasonably occupy…Do you have plans to create an additional apartment to help out with the costs of upkeep? Secondly, many of the spaces where you have videos seem to be very “hard”…Tile floors, ceramic fixtures, and spaces where noise really echoes…l know it is not your first priority, but will it be possible to soften some of the “institutional” qualities that the villa seems to have acquired over the years? Thanks!

The old plumping looks very sound. Why pull the old pipes? Yes some rust but did you consider flushing the system first?

Why are plumbing pipes curved? To prevent sewer gasses from entering your living space. The pipe bend known as the trap ensures that there is a water seal separating the sewage system from the inside of your home. >>>>Is this what's happrning? One suggestion: pls activate legend in various idioms, in my country, Brazilian Portuguese. I think it would also be nice to have italian (roman) or the piemontese dialect. It would be a kind gesture to your neighbors. Keep the good work!!
@Ragnar85048 ай бұрын
Ehhhh, no. That's true for drains but they're cutting central heating pipes that were part of a completely closed and pressurised system. These pipes were bent so they could be finagled into the walls.

Leadpipes also?

because the system is disconnected, on top of that we aren't going to use that system for the floors above the ground floor. good point though, we are going to try to reuse some of it later.
