Good video Paul. Thanks! Longworth is a great tool and I definitely need to build one. The melamine is a wonderful idea. Best Regards, Charlie

Charlie Zellner Thanks. It's plywood coated in a melamine like substance, the regular melamine (at least in these parts) is bonded to chipboard which would explode!

Instead of having the auto-centering feature, the spiral slots could be used like a simple faceplate, with the added advantage of tending to become tighter under load. Use dividers to lay out your perpendiculars and 45's instead of a protractor. Much easier and more accurate.

That is a great concept. .even for us metric challenged people.. aka Americans lol. As someone who works on a lot of mechanical stuff I've had to buy plenty of metric tools as has become necessary to work on engines. I love working with wood projects as well though. Great video!🙂

This would be an excellent thing to build on a CNC. Unfortunately this jig won’t fit in mine but I’ll definitely give this a try using your technique. As always, excellent video! Mind you, I only come here for the accent.

Being in Aus as I am in WA, does your cat react to catmint / catnip ? My three in WA don't. Growing up in Canada they went silly for it. I hear it's a genetic thing. Not sure about possible Bengals though.

my friend congratulations for the work, you can pass the measurements in millimeter of the wheel and then the first circle the second and third and fourth from the center of the wheel? Thank you very much in advance

Hey Paul, Is the Triton router a TRA001? I am looking to get a router table going, and cause we live in Australia, and can not easily get barrel style routers, that seems like the best bet for a height adjustable table router. I have seen some pretty rotten reviews on the smaller MOF001 router. I live about 5min away from PopsShed, so will have to go check that place out!

ddabate Tell James (at PopsShed) I sent you, it'll be interesting to see if that gets a reaction out of him ;) I've got a JOF001 - the little baby in the series. It's a bit underpowered for in table usage (but still works, as its the only router I have), while the TRA001 is a monster thats generally recommended for table usage only as its so big! I haven't actually heard bad things about the MOF001, I've been tempted to get it as an inbetween to use for both table and 'free hand' usage.

Great video. 1 question though. Do you have to link the short slots together with the short ones on the reverse plate or can they be mixed?

The jig you made for your router, how do you get the dimensions to accurately cut the groove?

Love the red melamine, I can't find it where I live, only white (which shows dirt too quickly). Your Bengal is beautiful. Did you flip it exactly on a 180 degree flip? sometimes if your routes are a little different, the "book-matched" flip at least keeps the matching grooves together.

I bailed at Metrically Challenged… There is the real world of wood working, then there is the metric handicapped wood workers. Metrics are great in the lab. They are terrible in wood working. Really… 12.7 mm or 1/2”? Measure 1-1/2” or 38.10 mm? A piece of 3/4” plywood is 19.05 mm? Really… mark that out thirty times building cabinets.
