05b Using the Data - Corner Pins [Mocha Essentials]

Walk through the different types of corner pin export available out of Mocha. We look at generating data from the Mocha Pro UI and directly in the plug-in.
In After Effects there are three different types of corner pin export. We experiment with each of them, and discuss why you might want to choose one over another.
Finally we see where to look if our screen insert doesn't match up perfectly in our host application, when it looks perfect inside Mocha itself.
At the end of this tutorial you will be more confident about which type of corner pin to use. And how you apply the tracking data.

But to make your insert fit you had to change the aspect ratio by stretching it. This doesn't matter if it's some random purple blobs but what if it was someone's portrait or something with geometric shapes? You surely can't stretch and resize every insert to fit 1920x1080 just for this to work? What if the insert is not designed to be that aspect ratio?

Hey I just tried it out and it works, even if you distort your image in the pre-comp by re-sizing it, it will look normal and correct in the main comp 🙂

@@borisfxlearn just one question. Is cc power pin almost always better than corner pin? Or does it depend?

Great concepts sir also how to offset track while to much camera shakes ? Please replying or a by tutorial over mocha tracking !! Hi sir myself Rony an VFX student from India

The best way is to avoid the camera shake. If there are areas that stay clear from motion blur, then track them. Break up the tracking into smaller sections if you need to. If the camera is shaking too much, sometimes you will have to do this part manually. Track the sections you can, then use the AdjustTrack 2.0 module to massage the last pieces into place. A good automated track will be faster and usually better, so do all you can to get a solid Mocha track before diving into manual animation.

It is just part of the Mocha Pro plugin data. You shouldn't have to do anything more than apply it as a plugin.

Hi guys, I'm having tracking problems in the final result of a shot, more precisely after exporting the file in After Effects. Tracking in mocha is fine, as is rendering within AE, but as soon as I export it the objects I apply tracking to begin to fade. The video is at 30.0419 fps in both mocha and AE.

Hi. Firstly have a look at this one to see if anything helps : borisfx.com/videos/top-6-mocha-ae-problems-common-track-data-mistakes/ Next up, that framerate looks odd. To stop hidden variable frame rates being an issue, can you transcode the video to a fixed 30fps and try again. The fact it's only showing up when you export is intriguing and makes me think that maybe there is a hidden framerate mismatch somewhere. @@borisfxlearn I was able to solve it after hours and hours of revision. The problem was those decimals that followed the number 30 in the fps. The video was from a cell phone, I don't know why I recorded at 30.0419 but the truth is that I changed the composition in AE to 30 fps just like in mocha and it worked. Thank you very much for responding and for the time you dedicate to users.
