WOW, MY FIRST COLD SHAVE. After watching 3MB today, I went out in the yard to do some work. After a couple of hours, I was hot, tiered, and sweaty. Took a cool shower and said, "what the heck, I should try a cold shave". I used Sterling's Iced Coffee with menthol, followed by Allum, Thayer's Cumber Which Hazel and then Duke Cannon After-Shave Balm with menthol. I think I will be awake for the next few days. Very refreshing for a hot June day. As always, thank you for another GREAT 3MB!

Another phenomenal show, Mr. Szorady! Thanks for including my tip about not getting alum on your blade. Hopefully that will prevent a few cuts. And every single person that sees this video needs to grab some Old Salty!! It's a WINNER. I bought the shampoo/conditioner puck, took a whiff, and immediately ordered the EDP. I'm gonna wear that one all summer long. Cheers! -Scott

I completely agree about boar brushes. I love using them. They seem to be better suited for bowl lathering, which might be why some people don't like them when they use them like a badger brush

Thanks again for the great showing Mark! You nailed it with the fragrances. We try to keep things as simple as possible here, the fragrance names reflect that. That being said, I have to point out that the Lavender & White Pepper that we sent you, IS A CLEANSING BAR SOAP. Please do not attempt to shave your face with it... or do... idk, but at least be aware! All of our shave soap refill pucks come in the boxes and our body bar soaps come wrapped in wax paper. Hopefully you read this before trying! It's always awesome to see Collette Classic out there in the wild, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts here at Collette Classic Supply Co. Remember to always #KeepItClassic

Jake, my pleasure. Cleansing bar? Well, my apologies for the error. But, it smells great so I'm really looking forward ot using this in the shower.:) Next time, I'll read the labels.:)

@@MarkSzorady Hey no problems here, Mark, I just wanted to avoid the failed shave experience that would likely happen were you to try shaving with it! It would work alright but there wouldn't be much slickness, and the lather would not remain stable. Glad I caught you beforehand!

I ordered the John Frum bundle and the Old Salty bundle at the same time, and to my nose they smell very, very similar. I can maybe detect a slight difference? But I'd say if you have one of those you don't need the other.

The Collette Classics Supply has a website with a "store" section, and shows the label with ingredients list, and especially the CC1 example, which is shown at a low price. Also noticible is the CC1 ingredient list example does NOT say "clay".
@10floz30minutes3 ай бұрын
Just-in-time, maybe; I'm running very low on my current soap, only having about 7 grams left. At $11 for 5 ounces puck, ... for me, far more than 90 shaves Maybe in the future.

@@10floz30minutes Ingredients in CC2 that are NOT in CC1; Sweet Almond Oil Shea Butter Bentonite Clay Tussah Silk Also the balancing is different. CC1 works great, especially for the price and @ 11$ it's a bit of an easier ask for a new person than the CC2. That being said, I personally prefer the CC2 recipe and use it daily. Thanks for checking us out!

Regarding Teddy Roosevelt, I recently read The River of Doubt by Candice Millard, about Roosevelt's hazardous exploration of an uncharted tributary of the Amazon river. It makes Conrad's Heart of Darkness seem like a picnic.
@MarkSzorady3 ай бұрын
Bob, I read that one, too.:) One of the scenes that really stood out for me is when Teddy went swimming in Pirahna infested waters. Another really great book.:)

@Mark Szorady Re: David Richland's tip, Whenever you do something like this, be aware of the potential for galvanic corrosion due to the dissimilar metals. It would be best to disassemble, clean, and dry the razor between uses. Also, while we're talking about Geofatboy's tips for increasing the aggression, take a look at his video where she shows how to use a blade to shim a razor for increased aggression.
