The African man talking to his people through the language of music something that is understood whether or not you understand the Douala Language. Don't try to shake your body to the rhythm cause you will find yourself lost to the different twists and turns of the instrument arrangements. Rest in peace the great Manu Dibango of Africa.

What a big relief when I finally stumbled on this song on KZbin. I used to listen to it as a little boy when father used to play it and also on our local station (Radio Rivers 2 FM Stereo in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. I didn't know the title but later got to know the name of the Artiste as Manu Dibango.

I was a prolific Ajasco and Makossa dancer in my kiddies days. I still dance to Makossa rhythms because it uplifts the soul. Thanks to the 7th wonders of our generation - the Internet superhighway. God bless all Makossa lovers

Oga Manuuuuuu,,, This is the beginning and end of dancing music. I was wild with this track in my secondary school days. Later when i grew up, I went on assignment to USA in 2010 and bought it from AMAZON Online.Papa Manu, Daddy Manu, my Oga, may God almighty Preserve you. I look forward to visiting Douala Cameroun to see how this track is adored. Someday and i mean someday

you said it better, grand manu, his music deeply rooted from the doualas sacred religion, the (ngondo) there is one of his 1970 track, where, he incants(oh makatta) incantation of the ancestral spirits. just too power ful the soul, sango A manu. the spirit of a lion, thats what dwells in him.

WOW!!! For soooo many years, i have been searching for this song. I remember it from my childhood. Couldnt get it on youtube cos i dont know the title or the artiste's name. I sang a part of the chorus to my uncle who is familiar with African music, and he told me it's likely by Manu Dibango. So, three nights ago, i began playing all of Dibango's music on youtube, searching for this track. NOW I FOUND IT!!! God bless u, united46. God bless u, and bless u, and bless u........bless u......!!!

This is like getting home as fresh as I was when as a kid, my elder ones would play, dance and discuss this song merrily. I came up on net searching for it but never did, not knowing the title. You cannot imagine what a thrill it was for me to stumble on it right now! The very best of African songs

Similar experience. You must have been a kid in 1981. It was an anthem then but I didn't know the artist nor title. I also searched for it for many yrs & even asked folks in Ghana/Nigeria/Cameroun to find it but they couldn't help because I neither had a name nor title. Eventually, I got the artist's name but couldn't find it online because I had no title. Frustratingly, all other Manu Di Bango's song will come up when searched except Oh Koi. It was like a gold dust. It's one of Africa's best.

@user-yp5nw5zu3u6 жыл бұрын
