I stumbled upon this clip over the weekend. Thank you! My stabilitrac light has been coming on when I start in the morning for a year when it's cold and the TPSM constantly, like 5 times per 100 mile trip since last summer. (2013 Savana 293,000 miles) I had "fixed" it with electrical tape because the van drove fine, I just didn't like looking at the light. I bought a cable like this this morning and installed it and neither light has lit since in 100 miles. Thank you again. Glad I came across you.

@Drako and others with this problem A few months ago I responded to this video. Indeed, this worked for a while, and I thank Lalo for posting here. But ultimately, my Service Stabilitrak service light kept coming on, and I experienced many more problems as others have described here. Door locks, locking and unlocking randomly, transmission shifting into one gear and not changing, failed to start several times. I tracked all this down and finally found a solution to my problem. The problem was found in the GM-LAN communication line. There is a bundle of wire that runs to the transmission. From the factory the wires are protected by a plastic cover. A heat shield is bolted to the transmission to protect the wiring and sensitive transmission components. With age and heat the plastic over cover broke away leaving the GM-LAN communication line unprotected. The GM-LAN line wires eventually rested against the heat shield, partially melting the plastic cover over the wire. This grounding of the LAN disrupted much of the Body Control computer communication. I carefully made a temporary repair to the wires at the transmission with 3M TemFlex Rubber Splicing Tape found at Lowes. All of my electrical problems have completely disappeared. No problems at all during the last two months. Hope this helps others!!

Thanks man, I did exactly what you did and my truck is running great, my dashboard would flicker and the transmission wouldn’t change gears to the next one up, now my dashboard doesn’t flicker and my truck runs like a beast I have a 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 4x4 6.0 in case anyone has the same problems as I did, thanks again, feels good not to worry about this problem anymore 👍🏽

My 09 Silverado had been doing the same thing for roughly a year on and off... but in the last month check engine light came on and the remote start would not work... ran the new ground cable and all lights and warnings have cleared... solid fix and definitely woth the try 10 bucks vs several sensor replacements and hours of troubleshooting avoided... takes 2 minutes to give this little fix a shot!

This happens because you lost a ground somewhere. Usually a coil. (6 or 8) adding a strap will only mask the issue until later. Check your ignition coils first.

Bought my Burban running on 4 cylinders, cocky I could find the problem. Within 2 days I fixed it. Yup bad coil. Now the headlights flash, cruise and the heater won't work. Maybe another coil?

Why is that like the go to thing for mechanics shops, those mother fuckers always wanna change your throttle body 🤣 it’s. Casting with a flap a spring and maybe a sensor, I can see the sensor going out but the other components not really, might need a cleaning here and there, but they got a hard on for wanting to change it for some reason 😂 that’s been suggested to me for every car I’ve ever owned at some point or another lol

I don’t see the update video you said you would make to let us know if this workaround kept working out for you. I am thinking about attempting this bc I’m having a lot of issues, Stabilitrak, traction ctrl, service suspension system, erratic RPMs, and hard time getting it started, especially in the under 30°F, snow or rain. Stabilitrak, suspension and engine light system warnings is a new development and the starting and RPMs is exacerbated the last 2 weeks. I cleaned the ground and strap and hit them with dielectric grease, as well as the one on left side of the engine kind behind the serpentine belt. And everything was good and it ran like a charm and purred like a kittens for the test ride. Then I went out a couple hours later and it fired right up but did this thing where it was started but the starter was still working like I was turning the key, nvr heard it before! And RPMs shot way up like I was revving the engine. This morning, it started up after a couple key turns and ran pretty good, but engine light was back on. So, I really want to try this hack. Can you let me know if this continues to work for you or if you got rid of it, how long it continued working?

I had the stabilitrack issue but this diagnosis did not apply. It was the sensor under the accelerator pedal. Other vids mention the steering position sensor-i thought of doing that myself but decided to get professional advice-if I hadn't I would've wasted a lot of time and money. So even for guys that want to do the job themselves it's a good idea to get a professional diagnosis before you start. Of course this easy fix is worth a try first !!

The problem is the battery cables. Just replace them. If you don't believe me, Do a loaded voltage drop test on the cables while cranking. Anything over 200mv is considered excessive and indicates a defective cable.

Hey guys, I have a 2007 Sub 5.3. The Stabi sensor is coming on and off. The OBD stays on. Its shifting really hard from 1st to 2nd gear then outside of the OBD I dont really notice any issues after 2nd gear. I hooked up the cable yesterday. I did not notice a change but when I turned the high beams on last night the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. As soon as I turned them off everything reset and was fine. Cruise works and I replaced the pedal sensor in the spring. Terminals are clean. Getting a P0301 cylinder 1 misfire code. Going to try and swap out the plugs next but welcome to any thoughts. No, the ground cable did not work for me. I took the ground cable back and received a full refund that I applied to new cables and spark plugs. The plugs and wires were shot on my sub. If I had it to do all over again I would do it the same way. The ground cable is not expensive and seems to have worked for several guys on this thread. For what its worth...If you do hook up the ground cable test turning on your bright lights while parked or during the day. I did not...hit the bright lights while driving and everything blacked out (lights, dash, radio, et...) at night driving with the kids. As soon as I turned the brights off everything reset w/o issue. Yes, you can, but the computer will automatically drop the power by 50%; that may have been a built in feature so that one could drive the vehicle to an place where you might correct the problem?

I replaced the Throttle Body and the Stabilitrak issue was corrected, NOTE: I took this opportunity to replace the “other” part of this problem by replacing the accelerator pedal assembly. The Stabilitrak warning / issue has not appeared since! God continually blesses me with these simple solutions!

I tried it it didn't work for me, and also I tried replacing the ACDelco D1539J GM Original Equipment Brake Light Switch under the steering wheel on the brake pedal. I guess I should have explained that I had a mechanic change my front struts in my rear air shock and the rear compressor. I didn't buy the electric shocks up front, so I don't know if that has anything to do with my stability Trac and ABS light on. It was never on until they change the front struts and rear shocks. right now I will take any tips that you give me that will help me thank you very much. My truck is a 2008 Yukon Denali XL, the front struts or shocks whatever which one it is it's not plugged up. Is there a bypass that will help me get rid of the messages

A common problem is just what you described, people accidentally bump a harness connection, knocking it loose. You may have to take the wheels off depending upon what size they are. But I have heard both front and back shock towers have wiring running along them and guys bump them or knock them loose when replacing the shocks. I have even heard of people going through the automated car washes and the pressure from the jets causes them problems as well. I would check all the wiring around all of your shock towers, if you haven't figured it out already

I'm going to give it a fix just like you did. My question did your ABS light come on with the Stabilitrak??? Curious because both come on together. And the codes stated the driver side front wheel sensor was the problem

@@kickinitwithlalo5461 First I want to thank you for replying to my question yesterday. I forgot to ask did you remove the wire ground that is on the back wall. I have a 2007 Yukon xl and the ground on mine goes to the back of the engine block. I'm not sure what type of ground it's called but it's silver in color and looks like a ribbon. Just wondering if I should remove it completely while I install the new 24" ground I purchased like yours is in the video? Thanks again

My 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche LTZ 4×4 5.7 is running like it's on its last leg. Service traction control, service stablitrak, and service engine, tire pressure monitor lights are on. The lifters are clattering, oil pressure runs low at idle speed but picks up when accelerating. Tried the quick fix turning wheels all the way right for 40sec dnf so tried the disconnect battery fix no still not good. What to do before I take it to the shop???🤬

In addition to all that, I also have this wicked jerk right after I start the truck and also jerks when changing gears from 1 to 2 and a little less but still jerky from 2 to 3.

The parking assist off, stabilizer light, crazy dash activity happens on mine, when I pull the codes I get a punch of ecm tcm bcm lost connection issues on top of it shifting hrs out of first and not going past 30mph. I think it’s something loose cause it started when I hit a pothole immediately then went away I just don’t know where to start

This fix worked on my 2008 Sierra Denali 6.2 awd. I had no other symptoms, such as flickering gauges, non-working cruise control, or vehicle not shifting into park. My only symptom was the lights on the dash. If you have some of the symptoms I listed, your problem might either be the brake light switch under the dash, or the steering wheel position sensor, or something else EDIT: the light came back on a few days or weeks later, can't remember now. Either way, it ended up being a rear left wheel speed sensor
