I was 7 years old in 1957 when Hazard was flooded. 3 hogs crawled up under our front porch at our house, which was high on the hill above the river in Walkertown, near Hazard. Remember it like yesterday.

My phone kept going off weather alert alarms, and I kept hitting the off button bc usually nothing never happens around here. We don’t get tornadoes in this area or flooding. So I can see how a lot of ppl just thought nothing of it and went back to sleep or just didn’t hear the alarms at all. I rode around the next day looking around places friends and family lives and I’m telling u it was horrible. The power this flash flood had is so unbelievable u just about have to see yourself in person to understand why there saying it was catastrophic. Bc it was and then some we look like a war zone.

Prayers 🙏 We gotta keep close to God/Jesus/Holy Spirit by reading His Word, prayer and fellowship if you're blessed to have that(pray for me I cannot identify with Churches these days). Perhaps I can keep trying). 😌 The climate is surely changing in Jesus' name! Job 38:22-38 ISV 22 Have you entered the storehouses of the snow or seen where the hail is stored, 23 which I’ve reserved for the tribulation to come, for the day of battle and war? 24 Where is the lightning diffused or the east wind scattered around the earth? 25 “Who cuts canals for storm floods, and paths for the lightning and thunder, 26 to bring rain upon a land without inhabitants, a desert in which no human beings live, 27 to satisfy a desolate and devastated desert, causing it to sprout vegetation? 28 “Does the rain have a father? Who fathered the dew? 29 Whose womb brings forth the ice? Who gives birth to frost out of an empty sky, 30 when water solidifies like stone and the surface of the deepest sea freezes? On the Heavens 31 “Can you bind the chains of Pleiades or loosen the cords of Orion? 32 Can you bring out constellations in their season? Can you guide the Bear with her cubs? 33 Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you regulate their authority over the earth? 34 “Can you call out to the clouds, so that abundant water drenches you? 35 Can you command the lightning, so that it goes forth and calls to you, ‘Look at us!’ 36 “Who sets wisdom within you, or imbues your mind with understanding? 37 Who has the wisdom to be able to count the clouds, or to empty the water jars of heaven, 38 when dust dries into a mass and then breaks apart into clods? Jeremiah 25:32 KJV 32 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth. Isaiah 24 ISV The Earth is Judged 1 “Watch out! The LORD is about to depopulate the land and devastate it; he will turn it upside down and scatter its inhabitants. 2 It will be the same for the lay people as for priests, the same for servants as for their masters, for female servants as for their mistresses, for buyers as for sellers, for lenders as for borrowers, and for creditors as for debtors. 3 The earth will be utterly depopulated and completely laid waste - for the LORD has spoken this message. 4 “The earth dries up and withers; the world languishes and fades away; heaven fades away, along with the earth. 5 The earth lies defiled beneath its inhabitants; because they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes, and broken the everlasting covenant. 6 Therefore the curse keeps on consuming, and its inhabitants are declared guilty. Furthermore, the inhabitants of earth are ablaze, and few people are left. 7 The new wine evaporates; the vine and the oil dry up; all the merrymakers groan. 8 “The celebrations of the tambourine have ended, the noise of the jubilant has stopped, and the mirth that the harp produces has ended. 9 No longer do they drink wine accompanied by singing; even beer tastes bitter to those who drink it. 10 The chaotic city lies broken down; every house is closed up so that no one can enter them. 11 There is an outcry in the streets over wine; all cheer turns to gloom; the fun times of the earth are banished. 12 Desolation remains in the city whose gates lie battered into ruins. 13 So it will be on the earth and among the nations- as when an olive tree is beaten, or as gleanings when the grape harvest has ended.” Glorifying God 14 “They raise their voices; they shout for joy; from the west they shout aloud over the LORD’s majesty. Glorifying God 14 “They raise their voices; they shout for joy; from the west they shout aloud over the LORD’s majesty. 15 Therefore, you in the east, give glory to the LORD! You in the coastlands of the sea, give glory to the name of the LORD God of Israel! 16 From the ends of the earth we hear songs of praise: ‘Glory to the Righteous One!’ “But I say, ‘I am pining away, I’m pining away. How terrible things are for me! For treacherous people betray- treacherous people are betraying with treachery!’” The Universal Impact of Judgment 17 “Terror and pit and snare are coming in your direction, you inhabitants of the earth! 18 Whoever flees at the sound of terror will fall into a pit, and whoever climbs out of the pit will be caught in a snare. For the windows of judgment from above are opened, and the foundations of the earth are shaken. 19 The earth is utterly shattered, the earth is split apart, the earth is violently shaken. 20 The earth reels to and fro like a drunkard; it sways like a hut; its transgression lies so heavy upon it, that it falls, never to rise again. 21 “And it will come about at that time, the LORD will punish the armies of the exalted ones in the heavens, and the rulers of the earth on earth. 22 They will be herded together into the Pit; they will be shut up in prison, and after many days they will be punished. 23 Then the moon will be embarrassed and the sun ashamed, for the LORD of the Heavenly Armies will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem; and in the presence of its elders there will be glory.” Jesus is coming soon! Luke 21:36 1 Thessalonians 5:9, Romans 5:9, Revelation 3:10, 1 Thessalonians 1:10, Hebrews 9:28, TItus 2:13 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV 15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

There are two flood control lakes in the area. This flooding worse than anything I’ve seen. Unless you live here, keep your superior knowledge to yourself. You don’t know what you are talking about. @@AuntDi2 I've been seriously eyeing up on that Western side of the Appalachian Mountains from KT-NC, are you the one that explains my sudden disappearance to my wife? Problem is, is that once I get there I tend to stay a couple of months and winters here seem alike Alaska thus I'm just about to start on the last mountain of fire wood. Plus my logging trucker died and with the high fuel prices no one will take his place. I just love it down there, except that same ole problem of being from everywhere so I don't fit in anywhere with tribalism and fictitious presumptuousness. We, as a species, are in the unique situation of not only being the cause, but also being able to witness our own EXTINCTION!

Can someone tell me if FEMA is going to get involved and help these people?

one of the even more unfortunate things here is that where ever those missing buildings washed to, thats that persons problem, they have to call in heavy equipment to have the debris removed from their property. you probably lost your own home and also have to pay to have someone else's hauled away from your yard.

This is terrible........I hope the people are all OK.....All those politicians who made it illegal to be homeless, any of you lose your home? I don't understand all of these floods, etc. but I am saying prayers for you. My family lost our home when I was in grade school to a landslide and then we lived through many earthquakes in CA...

1957 was the last bad flood we had but this was caused by flash flooding from the streams and lil creeks.
