Hello Sir, I have a part that is an elbow tube at one end and the other end its a T-shape (The T shape is made of cylinders as well so its a weird T). The entire model is a shell. I cannot partition it properly for some reason. I have tried every thing, but it is not partitioning properly. When one side turns green, then when I work on something close by, its color turns back. How can I go about this. Thanks.

Why is a need of partition ? How meshing will be different from the case of without partition ?
@AElkady3 жыл бұрын
Meshing algorithms use "cells" to generate mesh elements, hterefore, the more you partition your part into smaller regular cells, the more regular the mesh shape will be. This is particularly important when dealing with parts of curved or irregular geometry

can i do partition for Shell Element?
@AElkady Жыл бұрын
yes, you can partition any 2d or 3d part

Perfect ,Thank you pretty much sir😍

I see all your partitions start from the points shown to you in Abaqus, basically those are either the points on edge or in the middle. What if I want to cut the geometry at arbitrary positions, there are no pints that can be selected

You can always create "reference points" at any location.
