07 PACIFICA WONT START IGNITION ACTUATOR PART 1

Now 3 years later, I would like to add my thanks to you for making this video. This part is readily available at Advance Auto/O-Reily/Autozone, and it took me about an hour to do the repair in the grocery store parking lot where the ignition actuator broke. The only three tools I needed were a 9mm Torx, an 8mm socket, and a Philips head screwdriver. It took some patience to get it all to fit together. And just for laughs, the pin fell out of mine the first time I reassembled it also. So I got to do the assembly part twice. Thanks for saving me a tow to a garage and a repair shop bill.

Want to say thank you for making this video (and especially with your son!)... although two years later, you have saved me a heap-load of trouble and expense! I'm so glad you mentioned in part 2 about the little plunger piece fitting as well as moving the key to align the actuator, because that's the hardest part in the whole thing... again, thank you and God bless.

Thank you for taking the time to make this video and explain caveats. I’m a 53yr old single mom and I was able to do this fix. I unplugged some components and that little pin plunger moves up and down with turn of the key. Knowing how to ring the key aligns things was huge. Crazy thing was my battery went at the same time. I ‘think’… because the key turning in the ignition signals many things, the battery was draining. Until I got this actuated fixed, my car door ‘dinged’ with just opening the door, when this should only happen if the key is firmly in the ignition. Little things. Anyway, thanks a ton. I picked up the part locally at Napa for $53.xx out the door… though Rock Auto has it for $33.xx and the Amazon around the same.

That black part with wires, the key security and ignition wires can be taken apart in two pieces so you can put together easier.
