Will the original keys work with the new switch or do you get a new set of keys that have to be programmed?
@fredsautowaco7447 жыл бұрын
we did not change keys; original keys were used both before and after the process. thank you! let us know if you have any further questions.

Great! thanks!! Ordered the part and had it shipped over night, should be here tomorrow, and will try to fix it this weekend. I have the same year, make, and model so should be fairly simple following your video. Thanks for posting. Dealership was going to charge me $700-$800 to fix. Part with overnight shipping cost me $39.

I was able to install the new ignition switch actuator and it works but I can't get the car to start. I turn the key over and get one click like it's making contact but won't start. Almost as if the battery connection isn't making good contact but that's not it because I've checked everything and I have plenty of power to everything, windows, seats, lights, etc.... I've also gone through my ignition switch connections twice to make sure I didn't forget to connect anything and don't see anything that was missed. I did however go one step further disconnecting things than your video doesn't show and didn't realize it until I was going through it again. I disconnected the power connection by pulling out the red tab and disconnecting that wiring harness from the back. I wouldn't think that would have created any issue with it unless it resets a security feature or programming of the keys?

First question: was the old actuator broken when you replaced it with the new part? Second question: can you get someone to lay under the vehicle, find the starter, and tap on the starter lightly with a hammer while you try to start it to see if it will engage? MAKE SURE THE CAR IS IN PARK WHEN OR IF ATTEMPTING THIS TEST AND MAKE SURE SOMEONE IS PRESSING ON THE BRAKE AS WELL. If the actuator was not broken prior to replacement, it's highly likely that the starter is the source of your problem. Truly hope this helps. Let us know and thank you for tuning in!
