I believe Apple is working with both BlackMagic and Canon to bring lenses to the market that shoot spatial video.

Yes you are right, actually there're already some hardware released. The BM's new camera is super high end and the Canon's first spatial lens also requires a dedicated camera, both on the pro side. I haven't be able to get hands-on yet since my focus in on consumer-level gears. Anyhow it's getting more people into making spatial content, which is a good thing!

I had never heard of the difference in video quality between the iphone's two lenses. When Apple described that use, I wondered how two different focal length lenses could be used on the same task. Now I know.

I suspect there are some AI algorithms happening in between the two lenses to enhance the ultra wide lens results, on the other hand, our brain is also powerful to ignore that small disparity when watching. There’s more to explore here.
