I would love to hear your opinion, I’m trying to decide if I should by the Viture Xr Pro, the Xreal Air 2 Pro or the Xreal Air 2 Ultra. I keep hearing that the displays in the Viture are better but I thought they were all using the same Sony Micro Oled displays, some say that the Xreal Air 2 Pro can have some blurrines and some say it’s super clear. What makes mean lean to the Xreal Air 2s are the look and comfort, plus the ability to pair them to their Xreal Beam Pro and be able to use any app from the Google play store, something that doesn’t seem possible with the neckband + the neckband can get loud and the control seem cumbersome. I want to use these as a productivity accessory, so I can have three virtual displays for my laptop when travelling, and I need to be able to wear them for 8 hours+ which is why comfort is key, but also been able to read text clearly so I can write code.

I'm loving my Beam Pro. I didn't think it made much and I bought it mostly because I wanted to put an honest review on KZbin. However, I can't put it down. I just wish GeForce Now worked better on it and it had a damn headphone jack for low latency audio. I also wish it still had that corner view thing.This is way better than the original Beam for me. I feel like I need one cable plugged in. I just use Moonlight and Sunshine for game streaming.

Yeah definitely a step above The Beam for sure and I agree I tend to use mine everyday since I received it. Definitely has some DRM issues and have had some Wi-Fi issues but that could be due to low signal areas in my house. Overall I'm pleased with it I just really want to see the spatial features come to life once I receive my ultra review kit so stay tuned for a follow-up once that happens.

The thing that makes me happy about the beam pro is that I can kill that battery and still have a working phone in my pocket :D. The spatial computing and the dedicated OS is still great.

Relevant hardware details: SD Card slot - it has one! WiFi only, no GPS but does have WiFi Location Services. Future model will have 5G Data and GPS.

Mine arrives today. I bought with the air 2 pro as a screen replacement. Im a heavy user of Quests. But I needed a lighter productivity/entertainment device while I'm layed out for a couple weeks after shoulder surgery. I'm hoping it lives up to my expectations. The 3D camera is what really put me over the edge as an additional selling point.

Yeah I'm sure you've already used it by now but for what you're talking about this is going to work great! I love my quest for just about everything but you can't beat laying in bed with this on your face versus a box on your head! Hope whatever is going to have you laid out passes quickly!

Xreal seems to be heading in the right direction. I had an oculus and I prefer to have something light on my face that doesn't transfer heat with a companion device in my pocket vs a radiator box glued to my face. Plus it is easier to travel with something like the Xreal glasses

I have the Xreals with the beam pro. I really enjoy it, but also it has some quirks. Body anchor is completely messed up. It constantly drifts to the right. I dont know why it doesn't have the small picture mode either. That took away the ability to have productivity and walk around while watching things. I LOVE the 3d photos and video features. What a great way to capture family memories.

I can't agree more on the body anchor mode... I told my internal reps at Xreal they need to fix this ASAP. Also yeah.. the ability to put the screen in one corner is a missed feature as well!

@@MrVenture21 Very! You can save to a local miscroSD card on the XREAL Beam Pro, or save them through a cloud service and transfer them to a compatible device.

My flow on that is to save them to my Google drive since the beam Pro is connected to it through my Google account then once I have the pictures or videos on my Google drive I just download them to my PC and use sidequest to move them on to my headset. The "spatial" camera's are my main reason why I would want to buy it. Even without glasses (can watch the pictures on my Quest3).

@@Rockysbeats AFAIK body anchor is a software feature and part of the nebula OS on Beam Pro. I think you can install nebula on certain Android phones and get a similar experience. Honestly I don't use these glasses much or the beam Pro currently as if you watched my XR comparison video you would have seen that my preferred glasses and daily drivers are the VITURE Pro plugged into the VITURE neckband. I will however be pulling the bean Pro back out next week as I have been told that xreal is sending me a pair of Air 2 ultra so I'm looking forward to finally having the ability to use 6dof tracking. Look for a review of that soon. 😎

From what I can see, OG beam is the one to get if you're looking to play handheld and need that DP-IN while the beam pro is a portable media device without DP-IN that let's you enjoy watching movies with additional new features, something similar to viture mobile dock. They're both different device catering to different niche. Still hoping that xreal will fix issues on the OG beam though.

Currently I still prefer the neck band from Viture... The biggest Plus for this is the fact that you can charge and use the glasses simultaneously but you still have chords running all over the place and with the neck band and the magnetic connection to the. VITURE glasses it's a very clean interface.

I think the Xreal Beam Pro is fantastic for entertainment (watching movies, social media etc.) but not so great for productivity because it is missing something like DeX. Yes, there is experimental desktop mode for Android but it does not play nice with Nebula. I can work around this via Remote desktop tools, but part of my use case is to be productive when I'm not connected to the network (e.g. on a plane). P.S. If Xreal were commercially minded they'd be offering 3D movies / experiences in their store to sell the advantages of the glasses.

Yeah you can't beat Dex! It has been one of my number one use case apps for the last 3 years that I've been testing all of these AR/XR glasses. Too bad Samsung's got that locked down! 😖

which is exactly what it was meant to be but you are also draining the battery of your phone very quickly and would need an adapter to charge and watch at the same time so there is some utility in the Beam pro that phones don't provide.

Is it worth getting this for creating VR video content? I've had various VR headsets since the Rift cv1 and there has never been much paasive content, and I'm considering how to create vr video while recording binaural or at least stereo audio (probably my field recorder)

This would be good for creating 3D video content but if you're looking for 180 or 360 VR content it would not do that.

Ultras are currently shipping to very early pre-orders and in super limited supply. Most people won't have them in their hands until mid to end of August. Already been told by Xreal that I should have a set on the way but they are dragging their feet on getting review units out. Most likely due to the fact that there's not much 6 dof content to show on them at this point.

Hey sorry for the delayed response. Mine's been on the shelf for a bit waiting for the Xreal Ultra glasses but I'm pretty sure you could use something like PSplay on the Beam Pro to connect to your PS5 wirelessly and then see it on the screen of the glasses when connected.

Could you please let me know if it's possible to turn off the screen when the device is connected to the glasses? I'm interested in conserving battery life, similar to how the screen can be turned off when using Dex. Thank you for your assistance.

So the answer to this is yes and no. Obviously when in screen mirror mode you cannot because then all you see is the lock screen since it is mirroring your devices screen view. While in nebula you can turn off the screen however the minute you touch it it automatically turns back on because the screen is used as a touchpad and laser pointer. If you're worried about battery life I can say so far I've been able to use the device heavily and it keeps up very well. Also can take a fast charge so even if you have to plug in at some point midday you're back up and running really quickly.

You can also turn on energy saver mode on the Beam Pro and turn down the screen brightness to very low. Energy saver does not have any discernable impact on performance while doing media playback in Nebula, as far as I can tell. I always use it that way.

@@vrgamerdude lmao, have you ever used a film camera? You can take pictures on them in seconds that require hours of digital editing. Lmao. But as a kid 3d pictures was a favorite toy. From comics to cartoon and even some scenic shows or even moon and space pictures. My mother even had one that she could make her own. It had a funny eye piece attachment to a wood rod and a handle. Lol but it eat film because it required 2 exposures for each shot. 18 double pictures out of a 36 roll of film. Lol. Hense she never let me use it. Lol.

Have no idea about iPhones as I'm not an Apple user but to transfer to Quest is very easy by using side quest.. basically my flow on this is just dropping them in my Google drive and then downloading them to my PC and then I connect my quest to my PC via side quest and move them over.

Sooo, i bought the Air Pro 2 bundle that came with the USB-C adapter that allows me to charge my phone while being able to use the glasses at the same time. Soo, would i be able to use and charge the beam pro with the USB-C hub at the same time? Thats actually probably a stupid question, lmao. The beam pro does not support external wired input, so you can charge it via USB C while using it. Only the regular Beam can have a wired connection to an external device - but it cannot be charged while having this connection. The hub is used to charge the external device while it is connected to the regular Beam (then it will not drain the Beam's battery) or directly to the glasses.

On my beam pro 2 the photos so I'm nebula crashes, i haven't been able to see any spatial photos I've taken, but the worse features are physical, the glasses lenses are too high and too small there's no way to adjust these glasses on your face so that you see the entirety of what's in the lenses. I attempted to post this game review in Amazon and it was blocked as well as my account from posting for this device for violating the review guidelines. I didn't even know that was possible. Please buyer beware.

Weird.. have you tried a reset of the device and as for the screen position issue, I had a similar experience until I remembe4red that Xreal Glasses have adjustable arms that click into 3 positions. If you haven't tried that already, I push mine all the way up and that is what makes the image more centered... hope that helps!

It actually is because the media player built into the nebula UI works pretty well now.. that is if you are connecting Xreal glasses. For any other brand of glasses you would still have to use something like VLC and it would be no different than doing it from any other cell phone.

I mean I guess you could run a side by side 3D video and try to do the cross side effect but if you're talking about this being a glass is free 3D screen then no! In order to watch 3D videos on this you would need to connect the glasses and then put the glasses into SBS 3D mode.

As I mention in the end of the video I feel it is if you are already invested into the XREAL Ecosystem but TLDR.. Its basically a mid teir cell phone with a stereo 3D camera that works much better than the original Beam.

The UI sucks on this platform. Most people just want the Entertainment features not a camera. I’ll take pictures with my iPhone 16 when it comes out for those depth pictures. Not a $200 budget one. You get what you pay for

Yeah I'm eagerly awaiting my review sample. I've already played around with them a couple of times at CES and GDC this year but I really want to get them in my studio for some serious testing with this device and several others. Wish I could try it... @Rokid did not like my "honest review" of their glasses and the first station so they have cut off contact with me. Makes me wonder about any company that would do that after a what I considered fair review of their tech.
