From E Kent.. Just sent pics of Winter in our region through the '50s/60s..... Weeks of snow and ice plus regular lengthy power cuts.... Winter I was born..'48..Folkestone Harbour froze over...!!!! I currently live Off-Grid in a Caravan, and it's about-4 or so..!!!!!

@davidgates4450 sounds very interesting. I was born in 1955. I grew up on a farm. In 1962-63 winter, we were cut off The lake frozen, and lost most if the large Common carp. Snow blocked the road for several weeks.

As a pensioner every day one looks at the cold weather, and prays for something milder. As gas and electricity prices go through the roof - and it feels like there’s no roof sometimes! Thanks Liebour!

@ Actually the winter fuel allowance had been factored into the budget. But When Liebour got into power they removed it. But then the uni-party don’t like ordinary people - especially if they’re old!

Thank you for great forecasting. One point though. On your charts it's not easy to differentiate between cloud and snow. Other weather channels use a bright colour such as pink to clearly show snow. Could the Met office not do the same?

I can't believe, in these modern times, that a weather forecast is still uncertain what the weather will be like in 8 or 9 hours time. Anyway for what it's worth I think where I am on the South coast will get a few isolated wintry showers, with mostly rain.
