Hurricane Idalia's wind took its toll on the town of Perry, Florida on Wednesday morning. The town was without power and numerous trees were blocking roads across the area. Roofs and structures were damaged across town. A T-Mobile store had its storefront windows blown in. The video package shows the impact as the eyewall tracked across the town along with some of the damage left in the wake of the storm.

@@norm2264Exactly first time turned on the news in years and don't know why but I was shocked... what did politics and Trump have to do with anything? They are not journalist or investigative. All I can say is Insanity! I'm in Florida and just wanted weather update...to much to ask? not even 2 minutes in and hit with garbage... they are the hurricane debre! I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed thank you for sharing.

Keep up with accurate footage of what is really going on in our rural farming communities. Please let us know as to the govt emergency electrical and tree people who are to assist with damages. Typical Cat 2 or 3 damage, but I find the recent statements about the storm being a Cat 4 disingenuous. Meteorologists typically freak when a Cat 4 makes landfall, but they all seemed pretty subdued when mentioning that number this time, leading me to believe that it wasn't a legit assessment but was stated to help with clicks.

I believe that by the time the landfall occurred, it had been downgraded to cat 3. It was a cat 4 for some time, but by the time the center of the eye made landfall, which is when they technically will state that landfall happened, the hurricane had lost some strength and was downgraded to cat 3.
