Drone shots showing the extensive flooding after storm surge rushed into Steinhatchee, FL from Hurricane Idalia. I also shot before video a couple of days prior to the storm. Unfortunately I was unable to match up the video as weather conditions were less than ideal.

Would not be so much of a problem if we actually built houses as if there was potential flooding possible some day. So all we needed to do is wait for drainage and a bit of a wipe down to make them habitable again quickly after storm surge events. But I guess that would be slightly more expensive up front instead of massively more expensive on the back end so short sighted humanity will never get there.

This is a good example of what sea level rise will look like in a few decades. People probably think it means skyscrapers underwater when it really means all of these coastal towns rotting away in several feet of slowly rising water. This time the flooding is temporary, but it won't always be the case unfortunately.

The Navy started work on preparing the base at Norfolk to deal with climate change back in the 1970's right after the major report from the one oil company came out. They have done a great job of suppressing that support once they realized the economic impact. The military has done a lot of preparation since that report came out so that they don't get caught out. Then you have the people who think it's all a hoax, they can take the brunt of it and we can just continue to tell them that it isn't happening.

The bad news, there's been a run on mops! The good news now everybody has waterfront property! 21 years in Florida, 2 houses destroyed by floods like these, yeah that was enough for me! But apparently Wall Street's moving a boat load of assets down South to Florida, according to Forbes, so bully for them, and good luck with Govenor Doorknob. Heard him way early this morning say all the 911 calls were answered and everything was just fine?!/%! That was before it was out of the state and high tide hadn't even come in yet!!! Good luck kids with his no plan for no insurance companies plan! I do not miss the endless drama.
